Van Wylick Wegdek-reflectoren B.V. and Van Wylick Routegeleiding B.V. both actively contribute to increasing (traffic) safety. To this end, the BVs, run by Lisette van Wylick, offer various powerful and sustainable products that are increasingly appearing on the wish lists of governments, road builders, contractors and architects. Such as the high-quality TACK stainless steel guide lines, a solution that was recently successfully deployed at Amsterdam Central Station.

While the name Van Wylick Wegdek-reflectoren B.V. has been firmly established for more than 30 years, the B.V. Van Wylick Route Guidance is relatively new. “Glass bulb reflectors, LED reflectors and marking studs have been part of our delivery program since the beginning,” says Van Wylick. “And the stainless steel guide line product group has also been part of our product range for several years. Both companies operate in a niche market and excel in offering a total package: supplying a high-quality product, including assembly and advice from practice.”

Does Van Wylick offer a wide variety of solutions company-wide, one thing the products have in common: they all excel in durability and robustness. “Whereas our glass globe reflectors are seen as a successor to the unsustainable plastic reflectors, the stainless steel guide lines are a more durable alternative to the now more standardly used guide lines in cold plastics or PMMA,” Van Wylick explains. “Compared to such rapidly crumbling materials, stainless steel is wear-resistant. That ensures that you end up being a lot cheaper down the line.”

These are assets that are increasingly recognized and exploited in the market. For example, around the construction of the new UK Terminal within Amsterdam Central Station, the place to check in for a trip on the high-speed line to London since last March. The architects at ZJA Architects & Engineers and Superimpose Architecture, commissioned by NS Stations, Eurostar and ProRail, have carefully fitted this new terminal into the capital's national monument. “For the UK terminal, we were looking for a high-quality guide line that also fits within the materials palette of the project,” says Ruben Bergambagt on behalf of Superimpose Architecture. “We therefore chose the TACK guide lines in black stainless steel from Van Wylick. These guide lines have a high quality and at the same time a simple, clear design. The rounded corners fit aesthetically well with the design language in the terminal, while the stainless steel with black insert matches the signal markings added to various objects within the terminal. The clear tactile effect also contributes to the accessibility and safety of the space. This creates a solution that adds quality both functionally and visually. The choice of TACK guide lines thus fits seamlessly with the intended appearance of the terminal, which is characterized by clarity, tranquility and coherence.”
