The ever-increasing demand for compact attachments calls for customization and short delivery times. "And exactly that, in addition to a very wide range, are the strengths of our company," says Dries Vangaever. Attec - read: Attachment technology - has been producing attachments for construction machines of various brands for more than forty years. In addition to a range of standard tools, Attec also produces customized attachments.
The list of attachments is long, because Attec has them for virtually every type of machine: wheel loaders, excavators, telehandlers and forklifts. We see this classification in broad outline in the extensive catalog. It also includes some useful novelties, such as the concrete distribution bucket and - at the request of a customer - a mixer for small batches of casting mortar. Talk about customization!
Responding to market demand
Dries Vangaever was the face of tool carrier Bobcat's service department for two decades. So long enough to learn all the ins and outs of attachments as well as to understand their usefulness and necessity. Dries has been the owner and CEO of Attec International bvba since 2014. "Our headquarters and warehouse are right next to the factory in Markegem, West Flanders. We produce a lot of attachments, with an emphasis on customization. Our short delivery time is essential. After all, contractors like to be able to start work immediately." The range of attachments is now well over 120 and still growing.
By special request, Attec made this successful mixer for small batches of casting mortar.
Mixer for casting mortar
The mixer for casting mortar was developed at the special request of a customer, who found the standard mixers in terms of capacity (100 liters) far too large for his area of application (in the case of screeds, 20 liters is often sufficient). For casting mortar in particular, it involves the combination of mixing and distributing small quantities of shrinkage mortar or synthetic resins. Dries: "Based on that demand, we developed a compact hydraulically driven mixer. The prototype was carefully tested and adjusted where necessary. The end result once again proved to be a success. Distribution must be done very accurately, which is why the mixer has a slide that is operated by hand. For protection, a protective plate is attached to the top. To handle both small and large quantities of mortar, Attec designed a special mixing spiral. As with ordinary concrete mixers, the obligatory latticework above the mixing spiral is fitted with toothed slats, so that the mortar bags can be easily opened. This mixer is carried on a pallet fork. This allows pouring to the left, forward and right, making the mixer very flexible to use. As a bonus, two extensions can be connected."

Concrete manifold
"Our concrete distribution buckets are also a success," Dries continues. "The recipe is simple: just scoop up granules and sand with the loader, add cement and water, turn on the mixer and the distribution/pouring of the (concrete) mortar can begin. That distribution can be done in several ways: by pouring forward, by draining at the bottom or by targeted filling through the hose. The concrete distribution buckets therefore also lend themselves perfectly to filling trenches, covering utility lines with sand or applying gravel under drainage pipes. In addition to the existing version from 0.1 to 2 cubic meters, there is now also one that reaches from 0.5 to as much as 2.5 cubic meters and is already doing well with customers. Just as we have come to expect from previous innovations, whether that be the original sweeper brush with collection bucket or later developments such as the stump tiller, the flat mower, the loader tiller and the trencher. As mentioned, the list is long..."
