As a retaining wall specialist, MBS Beton is now a well-known name in the infrastructure sector, but the manufacturer of precast concrete elements has an even wider range. You can also come to the company from Soest for customized concrete products. An interview with company director Wim Kunnen about the added value of MBS Beton, which recently delivered the necessary products for the A24 Blankenburg connection and the Second Maasvlakte, among others.
MBS Beton is part of the MBS Group and active in both the infrastructure sector and traditionally in the agricultural world. "Within the group we have production sites in Emmen, Soest, Wielsbeke (B) and Alphen aan den Rijn. In addition, we have partnerships with a number of regular suppliers to achieve the widest possible range," says Kunnen. "Our customers in the infrastructure sector range from landscaping and earthmoving companies to medium and large contractors. As such, we are involved in a wide variety of projects."
Retaining walls, stacking blocks, talus steps, wells, drainage ditches..., MBS Concrete supplies it all. "In addition to our retaining walls and other standard concrete products, you can also come to us for custom concrete products. Examples include: footings, hanging aprons, covers, baffle plates, cover gaps, front walls and more. As long as it is not clean concrete (CUR100)," emphasizes Kunnen. Although the latter can be interpreted in several ways, because the retaining walls, for example, are beautifully smooth finished and extremely dimensionally stable. "We pride ourselves on our excellent price/quality ratio and are able to sail sharply close to the wind." This does not go unnoticed in the market. For example, MBS Beton delivered a whole series of concrete lids on the Second Maasvlakte and a series of special retaining walls on the A24 Blankenburg connection. "But we are also the right place for smaller projects."
A large stock of standard products, fast delivery times, short lines and personal contact are surely the main characteristics of MBS Concrete, according to Kunnen. "The latter in particular is important to us. With us no automatic e-mails, but a fixed contact person on the line. So that, while sparring together, we arrive at the best result and deliver what we promise."
