Algeco has been an expert in modular buildings since the 1950s. It is not without reason that they are the market leader in modular accommodation solutions in Europe. Borut Nastran, Country Manager at Algeco Nederland, explains: "With as many as 20,000 units in the Netherlands and Belgium, we are able to work with many different customers: from small businesses and private individuals to giant industrial projects. We do it all!"
For decades, Algeco has been at the forefront of modular constructions. Algeco was founded in France in 1955. A few years later, the company launched the very first modular construction on the market. Today, it is part of the Modular Group and is the leader in modular construction with offices in more than 25 countries. In the Netherlands and Belgium, Algeco has eight sites and 350 employees. Algeco works every day to provide solutions adapted to the needs of its clients. From a small building project to a large school building, from an office unit to a production hall at a major event.
With its expertise, Algeco is very active in many different sectors. Andreas Zonnenberg, Director of Algeco Bouw & Winkels, explains: "We provide accommodation for construction, industry, education, offices, retail and events. Currently, on the building sites of many large and small construction projects, there are one or more of our units or bulkheads. Think large projects, such as the construction of a new sea lock, the renovation of a tunnel or a large residential tower. And that can be anything: construction huts, shelters, sanitary units, combi and/or storage containers, bulkhead huts, Romney sheds or variety halls. Sometimes for as many as 1,000 people. But SME companies also use our units. Even a self-employed person can have a nice canteen truck, including sanitary facilities, for a large painting job, for example."
But Algeco also offers convenient solutions for other industries. "For education, we supply emergency classrooms and (temporary) school buildings, among other things. In the field of office accommodation, we offer both temporary solutions and office units that can be used for a longer period of time or units that only need to be used for a short period of time. For industry, we provide canteens, locker rooms, office buildings and storage sheds. And for retail we also offer solutions in all shapes and sizes. Think of temporary stores, pharmacies, libraries, beach pavilions, bakeries and cafes."

What if a client needs more services? Algeco does not shy away from this challenge! If they want to be completely taken care of, they can opt for "360° services". "This is a total solution. We can provide everything related to housing or storage," says Zonnenberg. "What does a performer want? He wants to be able to sit well, a pleasant indoor temperature and a good coffee machine. What to do if a chair breaks down? Then the customer calls us and we go and replace it with a new one."
In fact, Algeco can supply anything: chairs, tables, office cabinets, closets, drying lockers, whiteboards, garbage cans and coat racks. We can also provide sanitary facilities, lighting, window and floor coverings and fully equipped kitchens. For climate control, everything can also be arranged, such as air conditioners and heating. "And then there are the fire safety accessories, such as smoke detectors, fire alarms and fire extinguishers. But also consider burglary prevention with motion detectors, outdoor lighting, shutters, fencing and window and door bars. Even insurance can be arranged. Interior/exterior decoration and lettering for your temporary housing solution are also among the options," says Nastran.
