Develon Europe Uptime Center in Prague operational

Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, has confirmed that its new Uptime Center for Europe is operational at the company's regional headquarters in downtown Prague, Czech Republic. The Prague site is now part of the global Develon Uptime Center (DUC) headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with multiple sites around the world, including in Dubai, Ghana, Brazil, North America and Indonesia.

The focus of the DUC is to optimize machine uptime so that customers' equipment operates efficiently and effectively. With the DUC, Develon aims to increase customer productivity by making extensive use of digital service technologies and quickly resolving remote support requests from customers and dealers/distributors.

Monitoring digital assets worldwide

At its core, the Uptime Center serves as a focal point for monitoring the health and availability of various digital assets. By aggregating data from various sources, Develon gains a comprehensive and visual overview of its machines' critical systems and services. This allows the company to gain insight into system performance, identify potential problems and respond quickly to any issues.

The DUC is committed to providing customers with a preventive approach, moving from an initially reactive attitude, addressing problems as they arise, to offering a proactive strategy. This involves anticipating potential problems and preventing downtime.

The formation of the DUC is based on a pilot of the company's Machine Monitoring Center (MMC) that started in 2021 and officially opened in late January 2024 as the DUC with an expanded scope of work that includes remote customer-facing services in addition to monitoring.

Integration of new technologies and processes

The Uptime Center aims to be an indispensable tool to provide Develon with a comprehensive and visual overview of critical systems and machine services. The Uptime Center actively integrates new technologies and processes into its operations. This commitment to innovation is key to achieving and maintaining high machine uptime.

Regular monitoring of fault codes helps Develon perform preventive maintenance and avoid potential failures. Examining data from oil analysis provides insight into the condition of machinery lubricants, allowing potential problems to be identified and maintenance schedules to be optimized.

Maintenance monitoring through maintenance data analysis allows equipment maintenance to be tracked so that regular maintenance is performed on schedule to prevent unexpected failures. Big data analytics such as studying vibration and load measurements on components help understand stress points and potential failures, enabling proactive intervention.

Studying historical data on equipment failures helps identify patterns and root causes, thus developing strategies to prevent similar problems in the future.

The DUC's key services include Fault Code Analysis, VR (Virtual Reality) simulator, AR (Augmented Reality) guidance and CAN BLACK BOX*. These are facilitated with remote service functions through various digital technologies.

* CAN BLACK BOX: Technology for remote diagnosis by connecting to the CAN (Controller Area Network) data bus, the internal communication network of the electronic components of equipment, with a telematics system (TMS). Visit the DEVELON Web site for more information: https://eu.develon-ce.com/en/
