The Lommers story began modestly—literally in a basement, where Mr. and Mrs. Lommers started their business. Mr. Lommers handled the work, while Mrs. Lommers took care of the administration and planning. With limited resources but an enormous amount of perseverance, they built, step by step, a company based on craftsmanship, reliability, and keeping their promises. According to Gerda, that mindset still forms the foundation of the organization. No big talk—just doing what you promise. This ensured that clients kept coming back and the company continued to grow. First in terms of staff, then in equipment, certifications, and the scale of the projects.
Today, Lommers Welding Services is a well-established name in the world of foundations, steel structures, and infrastructure. “We have our own skilled professionals, mobile workshops, a spacious production hall, and an affiliated engineering firm. This allows us to support projects from preparation through execution.” But Lommers“ growth isn’t just about capacity. ”Just as important is our evolution from a contractor to a knowledge partner. Whereas we used to be called in primarily for specialized welding work and steel structures, these days we’re increasingly joining the discussion as early as the planning phase.”

What appeals to me most about this is that, as an industry, we are literally building the future of the Netherlands. The bridge that thousands of people cross every day, the railroad tracks that safely carry travelers to their destinations, the water management systems that protect our country, and the energy infrastructure that will supply future generations with electricity.”
