Weber MT goes for more ease of operation

New products at BAUMA 2022

Bad Laasphe: Weber MT, the specialist in hand-operated compaction technology, is presenting one more innovative products and equipment variants at bauma 2022 on the open area South, booth 1107/1. One highlight will be the "Weber Smart Assist" (WSA). The new system digitally supports the operator in the operation and maintenance of machines equipped with it. As part of the bauma innovation prize, the Weber Smart Assist won the final selection in the digitalization category.

The rough use on construction sites leaves a lot of marks on the components of the machines in the case of hand-operated soil compactors. Therefore, proper use and regular maintenance for continuous availability are very important. This is where the Weber Smart Assist helps.

The Weber Smart Assist software analyzes signals from the sensors built into the machine and displays them graphically using symbols. As with Weber MT's current engine monitoring system, the engine is always switched off then if engine damage is to be expected during continued operation. Even more: The user is also shown by symbols how to remedy the indicated fault. In the case of a heavily soiled air filter, the cleaning and replacement of the filter element is thus explained step by step. Also part of the Weber Smart Assist is the compaction control COMPATROL, which now appears in a new design. This indicates to the user the compaction progress in an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand bar graph.

Weber MT offers the new equipment variants with the designation WSA for the CR 6, CR 7, CR 8 and CR 9 reversible soil compactors. The machines are in weight classes between 400 and 700 kg and have centrifugal forces between 55 and 100 kN. Also new is the operation of the machines. After the actual starting, the vibration is switched on by pressing a button. You will not find a throttle lever here, as the motors automatically adjust the correct speed. Here, the new Hatz diesel engines of the E1 series are used. On request, the new WSA soil compactors can also be equipped with diesel particulate filter.

100 % emission-free - battery-powered compaction technology

For the first time, Weber MT is presenting the entire product range with electrically or battery-powered machines: the SRE 590 DC vibratory rammer, three advance plates of the CF and CFR series, the VPR 700 roller vibratory plate and the CR 2 DC reversible soil compactor. All six machines are equipped with the powerful Honda DC motor GXE 2.0. A lithium-ion battery (720 Wh) - also from Honda - provides the necessary energy. With the right charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 % in as little as an hour. Fast enough to continue work quickly if necessary. Changing the battery is done without tools, and its modular design allows it to be used for all machines with this technology.

New vibratory roller

Weber MT expands its program with the new hand-operated vibratory roller HPR 65. Here the product developers have remained true to their construction principle "engine in front - water tank in the rear". The 65 cm wide vibratory roller is powered by a Kohler diesel engine KD15-440 with an electric start. The 70 liter water tank allows long operating times on asphalt. A free space on the sides respectively low protruding parts allow working close to walls of houses.

A large number of developments in detail

This year Weber MT was able to look back on 70 years of company history. Themed to this is a small photo exhibition at the BAUMA trade fair booth - openterrein Zuid, booth FS 1107/1. On a stand area totaling almost 800 m², the company is presenting a large number of new and further developments. The small, only 65 kg lightweight CF 1 vibratory plate, for example, has been revised and is now also available in an asphalt version including water spraying. The vibratory rammer SRV 300, at 32 kg also a lightweight, the engineers provided a powerful drive motor with the Honda GX 50. In addition, the range of frequency and voltage converters was revised. Three mechanical inverters with different power and number of sockets are available to supply the concrete vibrators with sufficient energy.
