Wear parts for the foundation industry and more

For advanced (foundation) drilling equipment and machines, the German company STDS-Jantz has been the right place for more than 40 years. Besides selling a wide range of standard auger drills, hydraulic drilling motors and pile drivers, the Belgian office of STDS-Jantz is also active as an official dealer in the Benelux of Betek, manufacturer of a wide range of wear parts. Extremely solid and widely applicable solutions that are a valuable addition in a wide range of industries. Especially within the Dutch civil engineering sector.

Betek is among the leading manufacturers of tungsten carbide tools, tool systems and solutions for wear protection, among others. Products that are distinguished by the typical German solidity and can be used for a variety of tasks. "For example within the GWW and infra sector and then specifically within the Netherlands," believes Marnik Janssens, who runs the Belgian sales office in Ternat on behalf of STDS-Jantz. "Many Dutch companies put together their own equipment. Betek's separately available parts fit this perfectly. On top of that, deep foundations are used in the Netherlands. Without the addition of oplastanden, for example, there is a real chance that drilling at great depths cannot be carried out. The Betek program also puts an end to that uncertainty."

Versatile

Examining Betek's wear parts reveals their ultimate excellence. For example, virtually every product is assembled entirely in-house from tungsten carbide (carbide). It contributes solidly to the fact that Betek is considered a welcome parts supplier around the execution of horizontal directional drilling, dredging, tunnel boring and milling works, among others. Within STDS-Jantz, whose product range is mainly linked to foundation works, Betek inventions are mainly applied to the drills supplied by the company. "But overall, you can say that Betek's product range is very complete and suitable for numerous applications and disciplines," Janssens said. "This versatility ensures that we regularly come into contact with companies that are active precisely outside the foundation world. In some cases, we can even supply them with a specific required part from our own stock. Fun, educational and lucrative."

The advance of the tungstuds
Several of STDS-Jantz's customers in the Netherlands and Belgium use Betek's tungstuds as wear protection and thus own a special welding machine with associated gun. This machine can weld tops with a carbide core (tungstuds) to a steel substrate in less than a second. "The application of the tungstuds available in different diameters and heights is not only quick to learn, it is also easy and fast," Janssens believes. "Moreover, tungstuds require less maintenance, so you also have less downtime. All this makes them a considerably better alternative to the classic hard weld."
