Smarter, smoother, more efficient and adapted for electric equipment
Engcon will launch its third-generation rotary tiltrotator before the end of the year. The world's leading manufacturer of tiltrotators, quick couplers and accessories for excavators has a clear vision: to move forward faster in terms of sustainability, smart technology is needed. This not only reduces energy consumption, but is also adapted to the increasing electrification of excavators.
It is the second interesting development in a short time. In the middle of last year, engcon introduced the S40 automatic quick coupler, designed especially for smaller excavators. This year, the focus is on the already third generation of rotary tilt systems for excavators. The technology is based on a newly developed valve block combined with smart software that cooperates with the excavator's hydraulic load sensing system. This optimizes both the functions of the rotary tilt and the movements of the machine carrier, leading to smoother digging with higher precision. At the same time, it reduces wear and the need for maintenance.
Operation is facilitated by using an app (both Android and iOs). This enables a higher degree of individual customization through, among other things, connected remote diagnostics and mobile support. In addition to smart energy-saving technology, the new generation comes with standard EC-Oil, the automatic quick coupling system that easily connects rotary and hydraulic attachments without the operator having to leave the cab.
For full compatibility with modern current excavator systems, engcon also builds into the third-generation rotary tilt sensor as standard a newly developed tilt and rotation sensor. The sensors include one of the first "absolute" sensors on the market and feature a Plug & Play solution for both integrated and external machine control systems.
Engcon invariably bases its product development on future needs, and in this case that is sustainability. The integrated and user-adaptable system builds on engcon's concept of success: enabling higher profitability and flexibility combined with increased comfort and safety for the end user. The third-generation swivel tilt system will be presented for the first time this spring at the Norwegian trade fair Vei og Anlegg. The new rotary tilt will also be on display at trade fairs such as Bauma Munich this year.
Actual production will begin in late 2022 with models EC319 for 14-19-ton excavators and EC314 for 9-14-ton excavators. The model range will then be continuously expanded. Founder and owner Stig Engström says, "The third generation will be our premium offering, where the operator gets the very latest technology as standard and at the same time an energy-optimized excavator that will be even more pleasant to work with."
