Nooteboom introduces new extendable lightweight semi low loader with wheel wells

Nooteboom has expanded its SMART program with the new extendable lightweight semi-trailer with wheel pits, type OSDS-48-03V(EBW). This 3-axle semi low-loader with trailing steered axle has a payload of up to 39 tons at 80 km/h. By using a new concept of this semi-trailer with 4750 mm extendable loading floor, a very low own weight of only approx. 8,700 kg has been realized. From now on, due to the deep wheel wells, this semi low-loader can also transport larger types of wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks up to 39 tons, where previously this was only possible with a low-loader. Moreover, this OSDS-48-03V(EBW) is multifunctional, such as for transporting divisible cargo, containers and construction machinery on tracks. The short axle distance between the 1^e and 2^e axle of only 2260 mm contributes to optimal maneuverability. And because this semi low loader is produced in SMART series construction, the purchase price is up to 50% lower than a low loader.

Implementation

The OSDS-48-03V(EBW) semi low loader is exceptionally strong and has excellent torsional rigidity. The chassis has an exceptionally durable preservation and is completely galvanized. This increases the lifetime of the trailer and contributes to a higher residual value. The high quality is further reflected in the use of only high-quality A-brand components, including Jost support legs, SAF axles, Hella lighting, Goodyear tires, Wabco braking system. The semi low loader has complete standard equipment including extendable broadening consoles in the loading area and can be optimized with the available options as required. Available options include an elevator axle, removable intermediate tables, toolbox on the gooseneck, ferry rings, aluminum plates, ramps, storage bins and toolboxes under the loading floor.

Asymmetrical wheel pits

The asymmetrical shape of the wheel pits makes it easier to unload, for example, wheel loaders from the wheel pits. The special inclination angle of only 35 degrees of the 400mm deep wheel pit facilitates unloading from standstill. In addition, these "easy access" wheel pits are equipped with steel transverse ribs that provide maximum grip when driving in and out. The position of the wheel wells also provides optimum weight distribution between gooseneck and axle assembly. The dimensions of the wheel wells are suitable for all common makes and types of wheel loaders with different tire diameters, axle spacings and weights. Think for example of a CAT 980K, a Doosan DL500, a Liebherr L586, a Volvo L220G, a Hitachi ZW370 or a Komatsu A500-6. These are just a few examples of large and heavy wheel loaders that can be transported with this OSDS-48-03V(EBW).

Variable wheel pits

The front wheel pit is created by extending the load floor. Using the optional sliding intermediate table with chamfer, the required recess can be adapted to the tire size and wheelbase of the wheel loader or articulated dumper being transported.OSDS-48-03V(EBW) with Volvo articulated dumper

Problem-free loading and unloading

The long loading ramp of 1150 mm with high ground clearance makes loading and unloading of machines extremely easy. For maximum grip, the loading floor is fitted with hardwood floorboards wherever possible. For the loading and unloading of construction machinery, the customer has a wide choice from the ramp program, ranging from 2.4-meter-long aluminum ramps to automatically hydraulically unfolding 5-meter-long ramps. For extra wide machines, the hydraulic ramps and the standard extendable widening consoles can be extended to over 3 meters. In the case of aluminum ramps, they can be hooked up to more than 3 meters wide. Smaller machines can also be driven onto the gooseneck using the special hook-up ramps.

Multipurpose

The semi low-loader is multifunctional. It is not only limited to transporting wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks, but also divisible cargo, containers and tracked construction machinery. If necessary, the wheel pits can be easily closed, creating a completely flat loading floor. Removable galvanized supports with integrated loading surface widening and hardwood floor boards are available for this purpose. Optionally, the wheel wells can also be completely filled with hardwood parts. The semi-trailer is standard equipped with 3 pairs of holes for intermediate locks, so that 20', 30' and 40 containers' can also be transported.

Cargo fuse

To safely secure the load, the semi-trailer is equipped with various TÜV-certified tie eyes. With these patented tie eyes, Nooteboom set a new standard at the time. They comply with international standards where the load can be optimally secured in all directions. For example, the gooseneck is equipped with 5000 daN TÜV tie eyes, and the loading platform has no less than 22 pieces of 8000 daN TÜV tie eyes spread over the edge profile and the center beam of the trailer. In addition to these tie eyes, the edge profile has tie holes for hooking lashing straps. Furthermore, the semi-trailer has optional all-round rope hooks under the side profile. Optionally, this can be further expanded with extra strong 13,400 daN TÜV-certified tie eyes at the front and rear of the loading surface. Every conceivable load can be optimally secured with the highest safety standards on the OSDS-48-03V(EBW).
