DEVELON, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, has launched the new DX10Z-7 1-ton "zero tail swing" (barge) mini-excavator. This new model offers significantly better performance than its predecessor, which offers significantly better performance compared to the previous DX10Z model it replaces.
The DX10Z-7 is compact and easy to transport, with a width of only 73 cm when the tracks and blade are fully retracted, this allows the machine to pass through a door. The hydraulically extendable undercarriage gives the DX10Z-7 one of the widest positions in the mini-excavator segment. When extended, the width becomes 110 cm, providing greater stability. In addition, to make access to the jobsite (e.g., through a door) even easier, the model is equipped as standard with a folding TOPS canopy (Tip Over Protective Structure), which meets ISO 12117 requirements.
With an output of 7.6 kW (10.35 hp), the proven Kubota D722 engine powers the DX10Z-7. It offers good reliability and low vibration and noise levels essential for working in tight spaces in construction, rental, demolition, landscaping and many other applications.
The improved performance of the DX10Z-7 is based on a new 145 cm boom design and increased arm length (from 81 to 89 cm), resulting in a greater working range compared to the previous model. This includes a 21.5% increase in dump height of 220 cm and an 8.5% increase in digging reach at ground level of 335 cm.
The DX10Z-7 also offers an increase of 30% in bucket breakout force to 10.8 kN and an increase of 14% in arm breakout force to 6.3 kN. This combined with an increased track length on the ground of 103 cm, resulting in improved stability and an increase in 31% in tractive effort.
The booms of the DX10Z-7 mini-excavator feature a cylinder-over-boom design, which protects the cylinder and increases lifting capacity. The front of the DX10Z-7 is protected as standard by a bucket cylinder guard, which protects against damage that can occur during impacts on site. There is also an optimal layout for the hydraulic hoses which protects the hoses by running them inside the boom structure. This results in less risk of hose damage and failure, minimizing downtime and the need for repairs. These features all enhance the durability of the DX10Z-7.

Despite its compact nature, the new DX10Z-7 does not compromise on operator comfort and is ergonomically designed with the operator in mind. With standard console swivel and tilt system and retractable seat belt. The swivel and tilt system offers operators greater ergonomic flexibility, allowing them to use either the right or left console 10o be able to turn and 35o can tilt. For added safety, the DX10Z-7 comes standard with an LED light on the boom.
A great deal of attention has been paid to easy maintenance of engine components on the DX10Z-7. Through a maintenance hood under the driver's seat with an opening angle of 65o for ample and easy access to engine component maintenance.
The cooling system also delivers best-in-class performance, which is critical when working in small spaces where ventilation can be minimal. A blower-type airflow and a radiator with undulating fins are combined to ensure constant and directed airflow across the radiator, improving cooling efficiency. The blower fans provide relatively low noise and vibration levels and are easy to clean.
