During Bauma 2022, Ritchie Bros. aims to demonstrate to the public that a transformation has taken place from an auction company to a specialist in the purchase or sale of equipment, which also offers valuable services, insights and solutions for the industry. In hall B5 (booth 402), visitors can learn about the new Ritchie Bros. through a virtual tour and there are several mini-events such as workshops or discussion panels to bring parties together and inform them about trends in the market.
"In addition to our equipment auctions and online marketplace, we help all kinds of companies get market and machine data, fleet management software, parts, web shops, financing, transportation and much more," says Andreas Klassen, Regional Sales Manager at Ritchie Bros. Benelux. "It doesn't matter whether your company is big or small, has been around for a long time or is just starting out. Come to our booth at Bauma and you will see that we can help your company buy, manage and sell equipment in many ways."
For decades, live auctions were the core business of Ritchie Bros. with sites full of equipment, auctioneers and "bid catchers. As a result of the corona pandemic, these are now held almost entirely online. There are more services today that allow companies to think more strategically about buying and selling equipment. Instead of one size fits all, one can now choose the best channel depending on what is most important at the time: speed, price or convenience.
Annually, the group sells some 650,000 machines, trucks and the like worldwide. Through Ritchie List (US) and Mascus (Europe), sellers can easily offer their equipment on a modern website with classified ads. Buyers thus have access to hundreds of thousands of items. One of the fastest growing solutions is Marketplace-E, an online sales channel halfway between advertisement and auction. Through September this year, the number of machines sold in the EMEA region increased by 57%.
A key success factor is sales assistance, which advises users on listing, negotiates price and handles buyer inquiries. Whatever solution is chosen, customers invariably benefit from industry-leading market intelligence based on decades of experience and a global network of buyers and sellers. Ritchie Bros. will be 65 years old next year and has been driving innovation since its inception. The last decade in particular has seen heavy investment in technology.
At Bauma, Ritchie Bros. is presenting itself as an evolving platform focused on a future where digitization and automation contribute greatly to the quality and speed of work. With an integrated suite of services and solutions powered by real-time connectivity, the company distinguishes itself as a one-stop-shop for the industry. The recent acquisition of Rouse Analytics (2020) and SmartEquip (2021) has further shaped that transition.
At the world's largest exhibition for the equipment industry, Ritchie Bros. is introducing everyone to a wide range of its own brands, products and services. Under the motto "Discover the new Ritchie Bros." product presentations will take place continuously and visitors can participate in various mini-events at booth B5.402 throughout the week.
