Electric earth movers are the solution for this
EcoRent a new name, but with a solid background. Behind this initiative is Rens de Bruijn B.V., a family business that has been a household name as a supplier of earth-moving machinery for over 40 years. In recent years, in addition to their "regular" fleet of machines, they have invested in the purchase of electric equipment for unmanned rental.
"Our strength lies in the fact that all our electric excavators are of high quality. That is also a guarantee we give to all our customers," said Rens de Bruijn. "The electric excavators in the range from 2 to 3 tons operating weight are all equipped with a battery that can be used continuously for 8 hours. The 6- and 10-ton machines are equipped with an additional battery pack that the machines can change themselves, so that these models can also be used for a full working day."
De Bruijn continues: "At EcoRent, we only rent electric excavators of the Limach brand." Limach was founded with the aim of developing construction machinery with an electric drive system. Excavators with a diesel engine are converted to electric excavators at the expertise center in Ede, ensuring cleaner and quieter construction sites. While Limach was initially an initiative of three Dutch entrepreneurs (including Rens de Bruijn), earlier this year Volvo CE acquired a majority stake in Limach. As a result, production can be scaled up and supply expanded to meet increasing customer demand. "But the most important thing in this is that a name like Volvo gives a lot of customer confidence."
"At Limach, the bar is set very high. Here, price is secondary to quality," it sounds resolute. "As Rens de Bruijn B.V., we noticed that such an investment is not possible for everyone. In this we saw opportunities to expand our own rental branch." Thus EcoRent was born. "A name and logo that expresses and contributes to the rental and philosophy of electric excavators," explains De Bruijn.
"Besides the quality of Limach, we at EcoRent are also characterized by flexibility. We offer the possibility to rent the electric machine for a day, week, month or longer, depending on the customer's needs. We can also provide transportation to and from the work site. In this way, we can offer customers a total package and completely unburden them." Currently, EcoRent is one of the few rental companies that rent out electric excavators and the only one that focuses entirely on this segment. Also, the fact that all machines being rented can run for a full working day and large machines up to 10 tons can be rented makes EcoRent a unique partner.
EcoRent certainly has a dot on the horizon when talking about its vision for the future. "The numbers are secondary, we want to unburden the customer with high-quality machines." In that, sustainability and environmental friendliness are certainly spearheads. "It is up to us to solve any challenges and problems adequately and according to the wishes of our customers. That creates a bond of trust. Satisfying and keeping the customer satisfied is the most important mission for us, therein lies our strength. This makes sustainable work accessible to everyone and we can be proud of that."
