Agealube lubricates with specialist knowledge

Ernst van Gelder is co-owner of Nijmegen-based GVG Oliehandel. We know the family business as an independent Benelux importer of Aspen. It also operates internationally with its own brands Fillpartner, Ecomaxx, Firelux and Agealube.

We talk to Ernst about the latter, because Agealube has an important focus: lubricants. Today, no (agricultural) construction or earthmoving machine can do without them, but the right knowledge is often lacking. Today, (agricultural) construction and earthmoving machines have complex and state-of-the-art, but therefore also somewhat sensitive systems. In short, the right lubrication is crucial.

This type of equipment with many socketed connections must often perform under harsh conditions. Knowing what machines of this caliber need is crucial to their longevity as well as performance. Since replacing such machines is costly, investing in good products remains a necessity.

Lubrication becomes more important

As a general lubrication expert, Agealube often knows exactly which oils and greases are needed, especially in specific niches. For this reason, a complete range is offered; so everything is taken care of at once. Increasingly, this also involves products that are ecologically responsible, without compromising on technical qualities. With more and more electrically driven machines coming onto the market, lubricants are also needed for these. "Good advice on the right lubrication - methods and products - is becoming increasingly important," Ernst foresees. Agealube is ready for it.

Listening to problem

Many companies offer ready-made lubrication solutions. At Agealube, it works differently. The experts listen to the customer's problem and then look for the solution. Not a standard grease or oil, but a product that solves all problems, Ernst says. "A good example is a customer who came to us because there were problems with the lubrication of heavily loaded bearings in wet and corrosive environments. We looked at the entire situation with this customer and developed Agealube Calia Extreme specifically for this purpose."

This is a grease based on a balanced combination of high-quality oil, a new type of thickener and a refined blend of additives. This grease has excellent adhesion and good resistance to the action of (salt) water. It therefore offers protection against corrosion and wear and also resists extreme pressure well. This makes it the perfect solution for this particular customer.

Of course, Calia Extreme can also be used for many other applications. Because it can be easily pumped into most modern centralized lubrication systems, Ernst says it can also be used as a universal grease for earthmoving and construction equipment, as well as being perfectly suited for industrial applications where rinsing out by (salt) water is a problem.

Knowledge in house

Agealube's ability to respond so well to the needs of a specific customer is because its engineers develop or optimize products themselves. This ensures that a solution is found 'in house' for the customer's specific problem. So not just standard grease, but also customized solutions. The subject of lubricants is a 'niche', as Ernst describes it; advising the right grease has really become a profession in its own right. A profession in which they are now very skilled at Agealube.
