Compact Doosan DX140LCR-7 with Stage V engine for Luijten Group

Luijten Group is a dynamic and energetic company, with an enthusiastic team and progressive director-owner. Recently their Doosan importer delivered to Remy Luijten's company a new Doosan DX140LCR-7 with Stage V engine. The compact 15-ton barge loader is a real multicarrier, making it widely deployable in ground, infra and hydraulic engineering projects.

As an innovative entrepreneur, Remy Luijten keeps a close eye on what the market expects of his company; in this case, to make life easier for himself. The service provider of outdoor space based in Nuth (South Limburg) offers its clients the entire process: design, calculation, work preparation and, of course, implementation. With subsequent management and maintenance. Remy: "We call that design and construct: devise, discuss, build, manage."

That this approach is successful is evidenced by the growing number of challenging projects. In its wake we also see a growing machine park, which was recently expanded with a modern DX140LCR-7 crawler excavator. It is the second Doosan, as a Doosan DX170W-5 crawler excavator is also already running at Luijten Group.

Low fuel consumption

The new DX140LCR-7 is a pretty clean indoor tractor with low fuel consumption. It is very compactly built and has a minimum swing radius diameter of only 3.51 meters. That's nice when it has to work in tight locations. According to Doosan, its swing radius is 45% less at the rear and 24% less at the front than the regular Doosan DX140LC-7 crawler excavator. At the same time, its 86 kW (115 hp) engine is very powerful, with maximum torque at 1,400 rpm of 460 Nm. That combination of performance and compactness quickly earned it the nickname of "wolf in sheep's clothing.

Broad work package

To enable it to be widely deployed on a variety of projects, the barge excavator is equipped with all kinds of customer-specific items, some of which were fitted ex-factory and some by their Doosan importer. For example, it received a dozer blade unusual for this type of medium-sized crawler excavator, Roadliner tracks with rubber blocks for multi-purpose use on any surface, a three-piece long adjustment boom, Wiejelo lubrication system, running board, DAB radio in the spacious and well-equipped cab, from Engcon a DC2 pivot tilt with integrated grapple and, for the better work, a Trimble Civil Construction Earthworks GPS controller.

Renewal - innovation - is a key driver for Remy Luijten. "We are not afraid to deviate from the traditional path and we like to take our clients along with us in these innovative designs." Not only does that yield long-term client relationships, it also proves more fun for in-house employees and helps to retain them (and even fill vacancies). Such projects suit a machine like the compact DX140LCR-7, which as an indoor turner can move well in confined spaces.

Reduce footprint

Choosing an excavator with a clean Stage V diesel engine fits that bill. Remy: "As a company with a green heart, we strive for the most environmentally friendly working environment possible. For example, there are 650 solar panels on the roof of our building, which we use to charge our smaller electric machines and our electric vehicle fleet. Because we already have quite a few of those in use."
