He is now Account Manager Machine Control. He explains, "At the construction site, we work with MAGNET Field for surveying, plotting and collecting surveying and construction site data with a total station or GNSS system. The simplicity and user-friendliness ensures that you can work quickly and efficiently, allowing you to really focus on the work at hand." Verhoeven explains that all data is stored in the cloud via MAGNET Enterprise. "This allows the entire project team to access accurate and consistent measurement data from the project anytime, anywhere. In addition, there is always a backup." The strength of MAGNET Office, according to Verhoeven, is that employees in the office can convert simple 2D drawings into complete 3D drawings and models. "This 3D model can also be used for volume calculations, setting up the soil balance and accurately calculating and invoicing them. All the data can then be linked to Topcon's machine controls in the field and so we have come full circle."

Highly accurate and efficient

Topcon's ever-evolving software guarantees higher accuracy and more efficient work, resulting in the prevention of duplication and a reduction in failure costs. "All machines and measuring instruments in the field can communicate with each other. The software is the key!" says Brandsen. He recently wrote several white papers (downloadable from the Topcon website) explaining step-by-step and very hands-on how to get started with MAGNET yourself. "It's a matter of doing," Verhoeven says and continues: "There is much to be gained if GWW companies themselves convert the 2D drawings into usable 3D drawings and models."
