4-kilometer long pressure pipeline along the Meuse River

This vulnerable pressure pipeline needed to be replaced in the second half of 2020. Commissioned by Waterschapsbedrijf Limburg (WBL), GW Leidingtechniek BV carried out this work. We, Vanderkamp Pumps, took over the temporary function of the pressure pipeline.

Parallel leadership

The new pipeline had to be exactly at the location of the existing pipeline. This required the construction of a temporary pipeline that was installed outside our work area. Vanderkamp Pumps deployed its expertise by constructing a temporary steel pressure pipeline of over 4 km along the Meuse River. This allowed GW Leidingtechniek BV to take the existing, highly vulnerable pipeline out of service, thus minimizing the risk of calamities. Water was pumped through the temporary pipeline by the existing pumping station and the work to replace the existing pipeline could be started immediately without GW Leidingtechniek BV or WBL having to worry about the discharge of sewage water. GW Leidingtechniek BV remediated the entire existing AC pipeline, laid a new HDPE pipeline, fully tested it and then checked the entire new pipeline and put it back into service without risk.

Total Solution

As a partner of GW Leidingtechniek BV, we thought along at the front and weighed up various possible variants. Ultimately, in close consultation with the end customer, the Water Board Company Limburg (WBL), the best solution was chosen and implemented.

Beautiful images

For several months, the steel pipeline, made in DN500 and DN600 has lain along the Maas to carry away the sewage. This provides beautiful aerial images.
