Asphalt cutting at 45 degrees

This was underlined once again on the Eindhoven Noordwest area development project. As the only player in the Benelux, the Asphalt Concrete Xpert was able to complete the sawing job, whereby 1 kilometer of asphalt was chamfered at an angle of 45 degrees.

Our contribution to this project was limited, acknowledges Dirk van Gelder of ABX sawmij. "We were only allowed to perform the mitre sawing on behalf of combination Heijmans - Ploegam. After all, there are not many companies that can do that. To this end, we converted a sawing machine so that from now on we can saw horizontally in a wall to vertically in a floor or road construction. In between, we can vary freely and cut at any angle up to a depth of 20 centimeters. In the space of less than half a day, we cut the asphalt on the Spottersweg-Landsardseweg at an angle of 5 centimeters at the bicycle path. This particularly increases safety for cyclists. But we also use the machine to lower sidewalk markings or lane guides. We have even flattened historic curbstones at Zandvoort with this machine."

Mitre sawing is just one of ABX sawmij's many disciplines. "With our flexible sawing machines and our powerful saw trucks, we can do any job," Van Gelder emphasizes. "Also for perfect curves and traffic circles. In doing so, we take our clients' planning and execution into account. There is always a saw machine or saw truck nearby that we can deploy quickly. Calling today usually means sawing tomorrow or the day after. And for seemingly impossible problems, we always come up with a solution thanks to our wealth of experience in asphalt and concrete sawing for more than 25 years. Unique is our sawing truck that can cut up to 5 kilometers (!) of asphalt during a normal working day. It makes for much less inconvenience and disruption."
