Originating from the machine factory of the same name, Rusthoven Verkeerstechniek has made great strides in recent years. The company, which is based in Leek (Groningen), now offers a range of different types of barrier installations. Solid base

The latter has to do with the fact that Rusthoven's clever product designs are largely based on principles from bridge construction. For example, in terms of transmission, each installation features a crank rod mechanism that completely cancels out force application and loads, thus preventing wear and tear. The client is therefore always assured of a product that, as part of the safety chain, does not fail the moment it is deployed. "Moreover, because of its virtually maintenance-free nature, you don't need spare parts," Nanninga said. "In short, with our products the customer chooses a suitable, responsible and at the same time cost-effective solution in every situation that he will have virtually no worries for decades."

Always fitting

Especially for use in (temporary) lane separations, Rusthoven Verkeerstechniek offers the RhB barrier box. Made of hot-dip galvanized steel, this product comes with one or two barriers that safely close any road with a width of up to 10 meters. "The RhB is designed with a sharp focus on safety according to the guidelines in the VOBB (NEN 6786) and can be used for public roads and tunnels," Nanninga explains. "Even if space on site is limited or even non-existent. In fact, in terms of shape, this type is designed to be easily integrated with stepbarrier profiles. All you have to do is interrupt the barrier at the desired location and place the cabinet there. It always fits."
