The all-round civil engineering company carries out sustainable infrastructure projects in the Netherlands and has additional expertise in rail infrastructure.
“Our work is twofold,” begins Raymond Stevens, co-owner of VEST Infra. “On the one hand, we focus on civil engineering work for municipalities and other clients, and on the other hand, we are a permanent force for ProRail and the NS. We are therefore truly multidisciplinary and think just that little bit further than usual. We try to take care of everything for our clients and can act and switch gears quickly because we have all the civil engineering disciplines in-house. Whether it's installing a sewer system in a municipality, carrying out soil remediation, or working on a train station, we can handle it all. We also have the necessary certifications. For example, we recently installed new clinker paving in a shopping street in Amstelveen and Leiden.”

VEST Infra has a ‘breakdown contract’ with ProRail and NS for all train stations throughout the northern Netherlands. “In the event of an emergency, such as subsidence, unevenness, or other issues that affect continuity or safety, we are called and we resolve the problem,” says Stevens. “We also carry out major platform renovations throughout the Netherlands. For example, we recently renovated a number of platforms at the stations in Bergen op Zoom, Bunde, and Eijsden. Here, we replaced the entire paving, including the retaining walls, as well as the platform equipment and lighting. We will soon start the necessary conservation work at Haarlem station, and Elst station will be next in the summer. This work mainly takes place at night and on weekends. We work nationwide, know ProRail and the NS organizations well, and understand what they consider necessary in terms of quality and response speed. Our people know better than anyone how to operate in a railway and station environment, and in terms of safety, we are supported and guided by a specialist in the field of railway safety.”
