Volvo Trucks recently updated its heavy-duty truck lineup. As a result, these trucks have become even safer, more powerful, and more energy-efficient. To celebrate this, and in the run-up to its 100th anniversary in 2027, Volvo Trucks is now introducing a special anniversary edition of the Volvo FH, Volvo FH Aero, and Volvo FH16.
Following recent improvements to its electric, diesel, and LNG powertrains, Volvo Trucks is now introducing a special edition of its flagship models: the FH, FH Aero, FH16, and FH16 Aero.
The cabin of the Volvo 100 Year Edition features stylish upgrades designed to enhance driver comfort. The seats have been redesigned with a two-tone concept, featuring a high-quality leather seat and an embroidered anniversary motif on the gray fabric of the upper section. Tan-colored leather accents, such as a divider panel, match the color of the striping on the truck’s paintwork.
Design Director Jonathan Disley says: “With the 100 Year Edition truck, we’re celebrating what we’ve achieved over the past century. In many ways, it’s a very special special edition. The interior is both modern and premium, while also paying homage to Volvo’s history. The design is inspired by our Swedish heritage. It embodies the craftsmanship that stems from years of innovation and progress, along with the trust and passion of our customers.”
The special-edition trucks are equipped with illuminated entry steps and LED strips on the console, which can be set to red or white ambient lighting. Another new feature is a welcome light with an anniversary motif, which is projected onto the ground next to the truck when the door is opened.
The same motif also appears on the new 3D-printed speaker grilles and in the curtains, which feature an overview of Volvo truck models from the past 100 years. In addition, a thicker, more luxurious floor mat has been added, featuring a unique black-and-gray mélange color with tan leather labels.
“This special edition represents the pinnacle of Volvo’s truck design and manufacturing over the past century: the result of 100 years of continuous improvement in safety, quality, driver comfort, productivity, fuel efficiency, and emissions reduction,” says Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management at Volvo Trucks.
The Volvo 100 Year Edition is available with most of the powertrains and chassis configurations currently offered for the Volvo FH, Volvo FH Aero, FH16, and FH16 Aero. The Volvo FH has recently received significant powertrain updates for its electric, natural gas, and diesel variants, resulting in improved performance, range, energy efficiency, and power.
In addition, the truck has consistently performed well in Euro NCAP safety tests for many years, with several configurations* being named the top performers in their respective segments.
