With the merger of Molhoek Infratechniek and Terracon Funderingstechniek on January 1, 2026, a specialist civil engineering company will grow into a full-service civil engineering partner with an unusually broad portfolio. Director René van Kekem sees it as a logical next step in a market where projects and regulations are becoming increasingly complex. “You can no longer get by with just one discipline. Everything has to mesh together: from rail-related civil engineering works to foundations and from earthworks to ecological green management.”
The integration of both Strukton companies has created a portfolio that ranges from earthworks, reinforced soil, and pile mattresses to drilling, jacking, foundation piles, Tubex technology, and geotechnical advice. This combination not only broadens the scope of our work, but also makes it more predictable. “We do everything necessary to ensure that a project runs smoothly,” says Van Kekem. “If stricter regulations require a different approach, we adapt our processes accordingly. That is the essence: moving with the project, not the other way around. The client is central to this: we work in a customer- and solution-oriented manner and take care of everything where possible.”
Safety and reliability form the basis for this. Molhoek Infratechniek works with an extensive set of certifications: from SCL level 4 and ISO standards to BRLs and Groenkeur. “Our certifications demonstrate that we deliver quality. We are not a price fighter, but stand for craftsmanship and do what we promise. Safety and sustainability are a natural part of our approach.”

According to Van Kekem, the greatest benefit lies in the way people work together. “The type of people who work for us are motivated, want to understand, contribute ideas, and take responsibility. They are specialists with intrinsic interest who exchange experiences and seek solutions together. This culture makes teams interchangeable and flexible, without losing specialisms. This requires ownership: people who don't wait around, but see what needs to be done and act on it immediately.”
Preparation, discipline, and reliability are crucial in this regard. “We do outside what we have conceived inside. That requires anticipation rather than improvisation, and actually fulfilling agreements. Not just talking, but doing. If you follow your plans, you incur fewer failure costs, the work runs more efficiently, and the customer remains satisfied.” It is a working method of which he is visibly proud. “Our people just do it; without fuss, with pleasure, and with quality. That is the strength of this company.”
Van Kekem emphasizes that Molhoek Infratechniek will continue to do what worked, but on a broader and stronger scale. He concludes: “As an integrated organization, we are in a healthy position to grow along with the increasing complexity of projects. This offers clear advantages for the customer, such as proactive thinking and a single point of contact for the various disciplines.”
