Eelco van der Meer, Construction Project Manager: "Recently our team carried out a surveying project in Amsterdam for Bouwcombinatie Nieuw-Zuid. Various surveying activities were carried out this summer during an eleven-day out-of-service period. Day and night, 24 hours a day measuring, surveying and monitoring in a complex inner-city environment: a very small busy metro-train-highway area with little space and lots of obstacles, including machinery! And under enormous time pressure ..." 

"Per day we are then easily talking about nine dimensional engineers, three project managers and one work planner. That requires good coordination with the customer. One success factor was that we were able to deploy our NASIM+® system as early as June to automatically monitor the track in accordance with the customer's requirements, which allowed the system to test itself in practice."

NASIM+®: 24/7 monitoring

André: "NASIM stands for Network Automatic Survey Imaging Monitoring + Scanning. It is a self-monitoring geometric reference network and supports real-time and 24/7 the intensive inner-city construction process. FACTO GEO invented this brand-independent concept itself. If we could not use Facto NASIM+® in Amsterdam, for example, we would have had to use many more experienced dimensioners. We were able to use Facto NASIM+® to continuously monitor various infrastructure, including rail, in addition to dimensioning. Facto NASIM+® combines measuring, checking, scanning and monitoring. A major advantage was that our work planner or project leader could also carry out checks remotely. Even the customer can follow along to see if we did it right!"

"With Facto NASIM+® we have shown that technology helps us. The lack of skilled dimensioners is compensated by using our system. Every contractor can now use Facto NASIM+® and do their own measuring. Also, remote viewing by the project manager, work planner, a second measuring technician or even the customer will certainly contribute to fewer errors in the overall construction process. On site, we can check and visualize the design in real time and remotely with the 'as built situation'," concludes Eelco.
