Scoop with all-electric rotary telehandler

New gem

A first for Almat Laren that brings the first electric rotary telehandler to the Netherlands. The Manitou rotary telescopic handler (MRT) is one of the most widely used industrial machines in the construction industry. Therefore, Manitou has now also developed an all-electric version. Director Gerko Roekevisch is enthusiastic about the extent to which the manufacturer has listened to the wishes of the end user: "Five years ago, they asked us to put together a wish list. When we were later invited to see the prototype, it turned out that no less than 90% was ticked off the list!"

Almat is the partner for the industrial, agricultural and green space sectors for the sale, rental, repair and maintenance of machines.

Rotary telescopic handler

The MRT 2660 360 E is an emission-free rotary telehandler that comes standard with a 700 Volt - 65 kW lithium-ion battery with an accompanying 11 kW charger. This allows the telehandler to operate for four hours. With the option for a second lithium-ion battery, the deployment time can be doubled. "The batteries are easy to charge through a standard Mennekes plug. And one can choose from several chargers, including a quick charger. Moreover, the machine is economical in use by automatically switching off at times when it is not being operated," says Gerko.

Ease of use and safety

The telehandler has a maximum capacity of 6,000 kg with a lifting height of 25.90 meters and a reach of 21.70 meters. Unique is the ergonomics of the renewed cabin. For example, according to Gerko, visibility has been greatly improved, as has user-friendliness. "Take the step. Instead of placing the usual steps vertically under each other, Manitou has staggered these steps. This makes clambering a thing of the past and allows the operator to get on and off easily, even when the telehandler is rotated."

Growing with the market

By continuously broadening their knowledge and services, Almat is growing with the market. "We have specialized mechanics who are allowed to repair machines operating at high voltage. In 2021, we were assessed by Manitou as a dealer on knowledge, appearance, sales, aftersales and customer satisfaction. As a result, we have been an official Manitou partner dealer since last year. A machine is only successful if the accompanying service is optimal. Our team is crazy about machines but thinks above all about optimal usability. That's why we always respond to breakdowns within four hours and actively think along in solutions," concludes Gerko.
