The Policy Advisor for Water, Sewerage and Civil Works is part of Spatial Management Department, consisting of 25 colleagues.

YOUR JOB AT BUNNIK

The Water and Sewerage Program*, which replaced the Municipal Sewerage Plan, was adopted in June 2023. That policy document is the basis for the tasks and trajectories you initiate. You are responsible for results for the assets in the field of water and sewerage, which also includes culverts, civil works of art.

This is what your day can look like.

• You start by checking your mailbox and the case system. There you see that a question has come in from the council or a resident as to what the disconnection of sewers has now done for water management in the municipality. That question needs to be answered this week, so you schedule a meeting with your fellow advisor.

• You pick up a visitor from Hoogheemraadschap Stichtse Rijnlanden, with whom you have scheduled a meeting at 10 a.m. to discuss joint goals, such as zero-emission boating on the Kromme Rijn and the water task for the coming years.

• Then you test the housing task for twelve homes in one of the township's cores against the criteria for sewerage.

• Then it's time for lunch with your colleagues at the communal table in the hall, where a director can also join you.

• Then a site visit is scheduled with the project leader in the Engboogerd neighborhood. During this walk you and your colleague will look at any bottlenecks and gain inspiration for the next project in the Orange neighborhood.

• Back at the office together with the water consultant you prepare the work meeting to define the project area Langstraat the task in which both the gardens and the outdoor space must be made more climate-adaptive to prevent flooding. You put a reminder in your agenda to analyze the test results from the sewer inspection.

• At the end of the afternoon you have some time to quietly read through your mail. After all, you have a meeting of the network organization Water & Climate the following week and you prepare the portfolio holder for this in advance.

WHO ARE YOU?

If you like varied work, where you are involved from resident to college on issues for water, sewerage and engineering works, then you will fit in with this small municipality with a big impact. You can get from the abstract vision to concrete results while keeping an eye on the processes and timeline. You can put your proposals and ideas down well on paper, for memos and documents for decision-making, among other things You can make a difference out here, by working with the housing corporation, among others, and outside seeing the results of the goals outlined in the policy.

You know your field and at the same time know how to hire expertise where needed. In this way you know how to ensure good input and proper consideration on your topics.

Experience and knowledge:

• A completed degree in at least college in the field of water management and/or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable work experience as a sewer manager within a government organization
• Experience as an official contractor for major redevelopment projects.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

The salary is up to € 5,009.00 gross (scale 10; salary level 2-1-2023) based on 36 hours per week. The collective labor agreement for municipalities forms the basis for your terms of employment. Depending on your qualities, knowledge and skills you will be scaled.

Additional benefits include a travel allowance and an individual choice budget worth 17.45% of your gross salary. You can use this discretionary budget to extend your leave entitlement, to finance a study or as extra salary.
