The right temporary accommodation for every project. Algeco has a wide range of temporary accommodation solutions. From small shelters to large bulkhead shelters, Algeco can organise your new accommodation in every detail. Sales Director Annemiek Glorie: "Are you an independent contractor or a large construction company? We have everything you need to transform your simple construction site into a pleasant and efficient accommodation."
Algeco has been providing construction solutions around the world for decades. The placement of temporary education buildings, office accommodation, construction spaces and more is a daily business for Algeco. And don't just think about the exterior, because our services go much further than that.
Before temporary housing is installed, you need to discuss your requirements with Algeco. This is because placing a temporary building solution involves a lot of work up front. "Think, for example, about arranging permits," says Annemiek. "We know exactly what paperwork you need for a project. That saves a lot of hassle for you as a customer, and you can get on with your work carefree."
"We like to supply the complete contents of a building," says Annemiek. "Especially for short-term projects, this is a common request from our customers. We then arrange the entire furnishing: from chairs and tables to CO2-meters and fire extinguishers." Algeco delivers aesthetically pleasing, efficient and safe buildings.
And the project manager makes sure that all three pillars are addressed. One person is responsible for each job and that person is also present at the construction site. Would you like an extra table? Or due to the unexpected heat need air conditioning? Tell the project manager and it will all be taken care of. Annemiek: "Short lines. We love it!"
Algeco offers six different types of temporary accommodation for construction projects: site hut, crew wagons, storage containers, combi containers, bulkhead shelters and variant shelters. And even though the company works with these standard buildings, one bulkhead shed is not the other. Annemiek: "The basis is the same, but based on the customer's wishes, we make each construction solution into a unique building."
By combining different products, Algeco can create temporary spaces such as offices, locker rooms and canteens in a short space of time.
The name Algeco is known all over the world. The departments in all countries work together, but adapt their work to the needs of the local client. Algeco also does this everywhere with its Net Zero Journey. "We want to be a sustainable company," states Annemiek. "To make a positive contribution to a healthy climate. In the Netherlands, one of the ways we contribute is by installing solar panels on the roofs of our units. Thanks to this green energy, no external energy is needed on the construction site."
In addition, Algeco is going to replace all the lights in its temporary construction solutions with LED lighting and plans to experiment with electric driving. "Both to and from the construction sites, as well as with us internally," explains Annemiek. "In our workshops where the projects are made, there are a lot of forklifts. We would like to replace these vehicles with electric versions." And in those workshops, we are also working on a sustainable Algeco in another way. "Reuse is very normal with us," says Annemiek. "We take apart previously used projects and keep the parts of them that work well. Think of wood and insulation materials, for example: these last a very long time."
Through all these green changes, Algeco and parent company Modular Group managed to achieve a reduction of 26% Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions worldwide in 2022 compared to 2020. Last year, 54% of all energy used by Modular Group came from renewable sources. Good steps towards the 2050 goal: A healthy company with zero CO2 more emissions. "For a livable Earth and a livable Algeco."
