Recently, High 5 Solutions officially inaugurated the first all-electric powered sonic anchor drill. Inner-city areas, narrow waterways, overpasses or other challenging locations now become (even more) accessible to the benefits of sonic drilling technology; and with zero emissions.

A year and a half ago, High 5 Solutions (H5S) was asked to install indoor, inner-city injection lances for a pile point injection. Caransa Groep was redeveloping the building at Scheldeplein 1-5 in Amsterdam. Part of this project is the realization of a new building layer with luxury apartments. In order to place this storey on top of the existing building, it was necessary to increase or improve the capacity of the current pile foundation. By applying the special foundation technique pile point injection, H5S increased the capacity of the aforementioned piles. "On this project, the pile point injections were performed through permeation grouting," explains Peter Bongers, director of H5S. "By injecting water glass into the pores around the pile tip, the bearing capacity of the existing piles is increased.

In addition to this beautiful technology, this project challenged us to another innovation: the first electrically powered sonic anchor drill in the Netherlands, continues Bongers. "The installation of the injection hoses, in addition to sonic, had to take place on the inside of the existing building. Due to the lack of space in the building and the desire to avoid exhaust fumes indoors and indoors, we teamed up with MACONIC's top technicians to design and build an entirely new machine. The result of this collaboration has resulted in a compact sonic drill, which is electrically driven and absolutely inferior to our larger sonic drills. Its small size, maneuverability, limited weight and low working height make this machine excellent for use in buildings, but also in inner-city areas, narrow waterways or under overpasses."
The machine can be equipped with both a 2.5-meter broker, for projects with limited space, as well as a 4.2-meter broker, equipped with a swivel-tilt piece so the machine can perform sonic work in the most awkward places. "For propulsion, there is a choice of power supply through a generator or through a battery pack. With the latter option, we are completely emission-free at work and H5S is also doing its part to reduce harmful emissions. And it doesn't stop there, because we are steadily continuing to electrify our machinery on our way to an emission-free future."
