Evolution on the construction site

The energy transition is in full swing. Fundex Equipment also takes its responsibility and has started a large-scale electrification offensive that provides an evolution on the construction site. The latest foundation machines, a unique Power Switch to make existing machines emission-free and the modified MYRIX online machine portal were recently presented at bauma 2022.

Fundex Equipment designs, manufactures and supplies foundation machines all over the world. The range varies from extremely compact machines for indoor use to the FUNDEX F5600, with a 56-meter long broker the largest foundation machine in the world. Since 2020, Fundex Equipment has been part of Hydrauvision, a leading specialist in the field of complete hydraulic drives and associated controls, and this has given the electrification offensive an extra boost. The first electric machines of Fundex Equipment are built according to the "Be Ready, Be Flexible" concept, and are therefore ready for now and the future. The machines can be used flexibly, depending on the energy resources available at the construction site. 

FUNDEX F4800E

The first machine following the "Be Ready, Be Flexible" philosophy is the FUNDEX F4800E, which made its world debut at bauma 2022. The machine is based on the conventional F4800 with the same capacity but with a newly developed drive system to work as efficiently as possible. The basic machine is completely electric, including electric main winches and a more efficient hydraulic system with electrically driven pump units and a battery pack. It is just a matter of connecting a power source to it and the machine can do its work completely emission-free. Should mains power not be available, a generator set can power the electric machine. Even then, the necessary savings are still realized because the battery pack absorbs peak loads (peakshaving). It results in up to 21% lower energy consumption.

Power Switch

Also in the compact range, Fundex Equipment has an emission-free alternative with the FUNDEX CD20E. This drill delivers 200kNm drilling torque and is equipped with a 160kW permanent magnet motor for hydraulic drive. Like its big brother, the CD20E also follows the "Be Ready, Be Flexible" philosophy and can be operated entirely electrically, but also with a generator set if necessary. The third and final world first at bauma 2022 was the FPS803 Power Switch. This is an electric-hydraulic power unit specially designed to allow conventional machines to operate emission-free with the option of switching between the conventional diesel engine or the Fundex Power Switch, depending on the power supply available at the construction site. It is the perfect solution to flexibly convert existing machines to emission-free.

MYRIX

Through the online machine portal MYRIX, Fundex Equipment makes, among other things, all machine and pile data transparent to its customers. MYRIX monitors quality and secures progress control on the construction site. The versatile portal is continuously under development and also available for other brands of foundation machines. Most recent expansion is the Energy & Emission dashboard. In the future, this functionality will even help users to plan the energy needed to get through the day as efficiently as possible with emission-free equipment. 

Fundex Equipment moved in early 2022 to a 2.5 times larger site in Middelburg. Necessary to achieve growth ambitions and even more efficient production. Besides its own engineering, R&D, after sales and service department, Fundex Equipment also provides training for operators and technicians, both physically and through the unique simulator.
