TÜV-certified modular bridge system

Mobile footbridge systems are usually quite heavy and complex to build. EventBridge proves the opposite with its modular bridge system. The demarcated footbridge concept originated in the event industry, but is also gaining popularity in infra. With a very limited blockage of only a few tens of minutes, busy inner city or provincial roads can be bridged.

The modular bridge concept sprung from the mind of Frank de Groof. "My aim was to develop a mobile footbridge, without the disadvantages of a traditional mobile footbridge. After an extensive design and engineering process with partners such as Movares, VDL and TNO, we arrived at a prototype in 2018. A footbridge that can be assembled quickly with as few people as possible to keep costs as low as possible. Our standard modular bridge concept is assembled by two people at ground level. Then it is a matter of lifting, securing the locking pins and hoisting it into place. This way of working means that the bridge can be completely assembled in a side street or wide shoulder, without having to curb a main roadway. Only during relocation is a limited blockage required of several dozen minutes."

What makes the EventBridge concept extra special is that it has been certified by TÜV-NORD Germany. De Groof: "The entire bridge was calculated and tested, with the concept even being physically loaded to 150%. On that, TÜV-NORD issued a construction certificate that is unique in the industry. This means that our bridges have already been approved before they leave our warehouse, regardless of the set-up. This makes us unique in the world. We can thus guarantee our customers a 100% safe bridge, resistant to wind force 11 without any additional foundation. This so-called TÜV-NORD Gleichstellung is due in part to the limited number of components on the bridge. You cannot mount it incorrectly, because if it is mounted incorrectly, the bridge cannot be lifted."

What makes EventBridge's concept extra special is that it is certified by TÜV-NORD Germany.

EventBridge now has six units for rent with a choice of two spans. "One module has a span of 14 or 11.5 meters with a height of 4.60 to 5 meters," says De Groof. "By coupling the bridges in length, larger spans can be achieved up to 28 meters with a support leg in the middle. Because we use height-adjustable legs, uneven ground can be easily accommodated. Net, by the way, our standard bridge system has a larger span because of the slope of the trunnions on both sides. This allows you to span, for example, with a module of 11.5 meters not only the provincial road but also possibly the adjacent bicycle paths. And all in a very short time frame."
