How hardware and software go hand in hand

Thanks to digitization, innovation and a hard worker's mentality, a relatively small company is conquering a nice spot within the Belgian and Dutch market. We are talking about Surveyour, a company that supplies high-quality GPS measuring and plotting equipment for construction, infra, GWW and agri. Together with Pythagoras, which supplies CAD software for processing the acquired project and design data, they form an ideal combination.

"With our GPS system, we make measuring and surveying understandable and accessible through our competitive pricing and service," says Alex Groenendaal, owner of Surveyour. "Thanks to the intensive cooperation with Pythagoras, we offer total solutions in an all-in-one package. In addition, our customer can continue to rely on the knowledge and support of both the Surveyour and Pythagoras teams."

Very user-friendly

The accessibility of the measuring equipment means that there are already many users within different disciplines and at different user levels. "Not only surveyors, but especially also people where measuring and plotting with GPS is only part of their work, are among our users," continued Groenendaal. "We notice a strong need in the GWW and underground infrastructure market for a solution that offers quick results at a professional level. After a short but effective starter training, one can immediately start working with the GPS measuring stick. Deepening and development happens along the way. We really take them by the hand if there is a need for it!"

The ideal combination

Groenendaal: "The same goes for the software, which fits perfectly with our hardware." Jan van Looy, sales director at Pythagoras adds: "The basic classroom training teaches you step by step what is specifically important to you. Because we speak the customer's language and know the problems in the field, we know what questions may come up and offer optimal support. Not only during the training but especially afterwards." As with Surveyour, Pythagoras also provides adhoc support. If users encounter a problem in the field or office, they can contact us directly. "If necessary, we can take over the software and show them how to do it. As a result, users will also apply more and more functions themselves," says Van Looy. Groenendaal concludes, "You can make your hardware and software as good as you want, but if you don't teach your customers to work with it, they will stop using it. By providing good support, especially at the times when it really matters, you ensure that your product is used permanently and satisfactorily, and more importantly, pays off."
