No road, area or surface is the same. And that is why we at KWS have developed different asphalt mixtures for every requirement or surface.
For example, at locations with wriggling traffic, rutting and rippling along with road-skid coating is a common problem. On public roads, this creates dangerous situations in the form of aquaplaning during rainfall.
In dry weather, it causes steering and comfort problems. At business sites, deformations from overloading disrupt vehicle movements which sometimes causes damage to loads. On municipal and polder roads, in hot weather the surface treatment is quickly loosened causing it to disappear, especially in locations with wrenching traffic.
KonwéBase is the solution to the aforementioned problems. KonwéBase is an asphalt product with high stiffness and good resistance to deformation. It is therefore the ultimate intermediate layer for any type of overlay. Moreover, the product is very suitable as a top underlayer and under a surface treatment.
Inner-city solutions
Inner-city areas also have their own requirements, such as noise reduction. For this, we at KWS have the special asphalt mixture KonwéCity developed. KonwéCity is a thin noise-reducing overlay.
Measurements have shown that noise reduction over time decreases less than usual for semi-dense and open overlays.
In addition to the above solutions, we at KWS are always looking at sustainable solutions for existing mixtures. A good example of this is KonwéBright. A mixture that reflects more light than normal mixtures by adding minerals with light-reflecting properties.
The use of this mixture reduces the need for public lighting and thus energy, but still ensures visibility.
In addition to the above applications, we also have KonwéFlex For crack-prone foundations and Carpave for settlement-prone areas.
