Imagine having a consulting and engineering firm on your side that has a global network of specialists? A company driven primarily by maximum commitment when it comes to future-proof design. That company is here. WSP develops innovative solutions for the challenges of today and tomorrow. Business development manager Frans-Jan Willemen takes us into the world of WSP.
"We are an organization that prefers to be involved from the point of view of content. Our firm makes calculations, gives advice and provides consultancy. In short, we provide real experts at the table. Because we come from an executive field ourselves, we understand the method of communication and the needs of our clients like no other. We recently created the strategic advice department, with an economist at the helm. As of November, we have contract and project management as a new service. Because of our background, we are involved at the level of wet engineering, infrastructure, construction, environment and energy. So for the GWW we are in the whole column," Willemen outlines.

WSP is a global player with branches in every country where there is expertise within all disciplines. "That provides enormous computing and thinking power," Willemen continues. "We grow every day, taking advantage of the cross-pollination that takes place within our own network. You can see that in our involvement in digitization, for example. We use data from projects taking place all over the world and deploy it in new projects. This creates an enormous dynamic, which is really necessary in a world where the speed of change is ever increasing. Also in the social sphere. The latter is one of our hobbyhorses. We are fully committed to social issues and have an opinion on important matters. We want to use our knowledge to serve the interests of society. These values and standards are reflected in our projects."
WSP is therefore found everywhere in the Netherlands. Like this year, at the flood disaster in Limburg, where WSP employees were involved in finding solutions. WSP also has SROK contracts running with Rijkswaterstaat and researches and advises on PFAS, nitrogen et cetera. "When it comes to renovation, replacement, circular working and recycling, the rule is: cooperation is everything, just like being involved. That starts with our employees and we like to transfer that to our customers. Together we face the challenge of building a future-proof society," Willemen concludes.
