Terneuzen New Lock | More than 100 years of tradition in complex prefabricated custom work

The quay walls of the New Lock Terneuzen will be prefabricated from self-compacting concrete. The supplier comes from the neighborhood: Fassaert Beton BV of Westdorpe. The company is strong in producing and delivering high-quality custom concrete.

With a tradition of more than 100 years in complex precast customization, Fassaert Beton BV can definitely call itself a specialist. We speak with Antoine Thoen, commercial director. What application does your concrete have at the Nieuwe Sluis Terneuzen? Thoen: "The concrete product we supply must serve as a durable finish for a mooring quay for ships, similar products we have previously supplied to various projects in the Netherlands for the same application. We deliver on behalf of contractor combination Sassevaart."

Thinking along throughout the process
Fassaert is often asked to assist in the delivery of complex Prefab custom structures for the GWW or (Petrochemical) Industry. "Sassevaart approached us at an early stage to think along. We are known for our solutions, whether it is specially designed manholes, piers, sleepers, basements or other precast concrete products. Thoen explains, "We are primarily a solution-oriented and innovative provider of sustainable concrete paving materials, sewer products, dike and bank revetment. Here, continuity within Group De Hoop is paramount." With a wide range of high-quality products, customization is provided. "We manufacture elements weighing up to 40 tons in our own production hall. From design to manufacture and transport, everything is arranged in-house. This is how we guarantee quality and delivery time. Our delivery reliability is therefore high," Thoen said.
