Increasingly, drainage is a visible part of urban design. No longer an afterthought, but an integral part of future-proof policy. Municipalities are looking for solutions that are technically reliable and fit within sustainability goals and aesthetic ambitions. TBS-SVA Group responds to this with a clear mission: to bring inner city drainage more into focus. The company does this with its own Aquaway® brand and with a new, exclusive partnership with the Austrian company Aquaway®. BG-Graspointner.
"With the increasing severity of showers, stormwater drainage is no longer an afterthought, but a necessity," says Mireille Serkel, responsible for marketing at TBS-SVA. "At the same time, urban design is becoming more ambitious. Drainage is no longer hidden under pavement, but rather deployed as a visible part of the design. This is why we want to bring inner-city drainage more literally and figuratively into focus."
With both its own Aquaway® brand and an exclusive partnership with Austria's BG-Graspointner, TBS-SVA offers a wide range of solutions for inner-city line drainage. Whereas Aquaway® stands for self-supporting gutters that can be installed directly without concrete infill, new solutions from BG-Graspointner - such as the BG-FILCOTEN® and BG-CLASSIC - add durable, high-quality systems suitable for a variety of applications. Together, they form an innovative overall solution in which safety, functionality and appearance go hand in hand.
The exclusive partnership allows TBS-SVA to be the only party in the Netherlands to supply the BG-FILCOTEN® and BG-CLASSIC product lines. "That makes us unique," says Serkel. "We entered into this cooperation because the offer perfectly matches our ambition to offer total solutions. Both manufacturers also stand for innovative drainage systems and sustainable production methods, both in choice of materials and in responsible handling of raw materials."
The showpiece within the new offering is FILCOTEN® HPC: a high performance concrete made of modified fiber concrete (C60/75), up to 70% lighter than conventional concrete. "This is not only convenient for transport and installation, but also safer and more durable. Moreover, it meets the same technical requirements and FILCOTEN® HPC does not contain any BTEX substances such as benzene or toluene, which are considered to be of concern. That makes it a responsible choice for people and the environment," says Serkel. FILCOTEN® HPC has an environmental certificate from the IBR and thus fits well with the sustainability ambitions of many municipalities.
In addition to the standard versions, the BG-FILCOTEN® pro line offers a flexible, robust solution up to load class E600 and there is also a lowered MINI version and a BG-FILCOTEN® tec line, perfectly suited for drainage around inner-city buildings. For those who want drainage to be an aesthetic element in the streetscape, there is the BG-FILCOTEN® Blacklabel line with designer gratings in cast iron or Corten steel, customizable, even with complete custom design.
Also for projects where appearance or budget play a different role, TBS-SVA offers a suitable solution: the BG-CLASSIC. A classic-looking drainage channel made of vibrated concrete, robust and affordable, available as standard as type M up to load class D400. "This channel also fits perfectly into our total package," says Serkel.
At least as important as the products themselves is the advice TBS-SVA offers in the process. "We think along from the initial design through to implementation. Our field service and engineers help choose the right gutter, calculate the hydraulic capacity and match it to the load. This creates a well-functioning and sustainable solution."
With Aquaway®, TBS-SVA has its own product line that combines technology, aesthetics and installation speed. The self-supporting gutters, available as slotted, design and grating gutters, are suitable for a variety of applications and load classes, and can be installed directly on cement-based foundations without additional concrete infill. Thanks to its high-quality workmanship and wide range of models, Aquaway® fits in seamlessly with modern paving concepts. The system is produced in-house and meets the strictest standards, such as European standard EN 1433, and is CE, LAU or KOMO certified.
With the new product line, TBS-SVA is responding to the growing focus on climate adaptation. "We notice that aesthetics play an increasingly important role: drainage is no longer hidden away, but rather visibly integrated into squares, shopping areas or entrances. When good design and a responsible choice of raw materials combine harmoniously, something special is created. That is what TBS-SVA and BG-Graspointner stand for together: solutions in which quality and innovation flow together."
