By continuously monitoring the behavior of the subsurface during execution, Alliantie Markermeerdijken can calculate exactly when the next layer of sand can be applied. Las- en montagewerken (LMW) in De Rijp makes pocket beacons and other auxiliary constructions that are indispensable to the Alliantie during construction, including ones weighing up to 600 kilograms each. Sister company Q-Fence also provides safe screening of the construction site with many kilometers of fencing, also in special designs.
LMW mainly provides welding and assembly work for civil engineering projects. "We specialize in producing pocket beacons," says director Joeri Hoeve. A pocket beacon is a steel instrument that allows you to accurately measure the lowering of the ground during various uplift operations. "The pocket beacons are used, among other things, in the construction of the embankment dike, but also in the IJsselmeer. For the embankment we have already produced many hundreds of pocket beacons in standard formats. That is, a steel plate with a long steel tube attached to it with a total weight of about 25 kilograms. For application in the IJsselmeer, on the other hand, we have made several 'specials'. Rightfully pocket beacons of format, given the dimensions and a weight of 600 kilograms."
LMW is a well-known supplier to the infrastructure sector. "We can deliver pocket beacons quickly from stock and have supplied many large infrastructure projects in the past, such as many thousands of pocket beacons for SAAone, Westfrisiaweg and Combination Badhoeve Arches. Customization is not a problem for us either. In addition, we have produced a special cloth roll for the Alliance Markermeer Dikes to unroll foils efficiently and we also provide repairs to shovel buckets, for example."
