New high-efficiency 8-inch stainless steel well pump

Expanding its range of pumps for water extraction, KSB has introduced a new well pump. These pumps with the type designation UPA S 200 are designed for water supply, irrigation and groundwater management.

Thanks to optimized hydraulic geometry, pumps of this type achieve very high efficiencies. A wear-resistant design with metal wear rings and silicon carbide bearings keeps energy consumption to a minimum even with increased sand content in the water for many years.

In combination with the highly efficient synchronous motors of the UMA-S series and variable speed control, energy costs can be reduced even further significantly. For operation without a frequency converter, the impeller diameters are adjusted to the millimeter. This ensures even with a fixed speed, that the pump curve is individually matched to requirements and no power is wasted.

The UPA S 200 will first be marketed as an 8-inch pump and will be available in four different hydraulic sizes. Optimum capacities are between 40 and 60 cubic meters. The maximum head is at 400 meters. All cast parts are made of high-quality cast stainless steel 1.4408 or optional 1.4517.

The pump is certified for use in drinking water according to ACS (French drinking water certification) and meets the requirements of the German Environment Ministry.
