Delta Coastal Services BV (DCS) in a young dynamic organization of about eighty employees known for its flexible, practical and problem-solving attitude.
"What sets us apart is our combination between services on land and on water," says Hans Nicolaas, director at DCS. "We have the dry and wet know-how, equipment and personnel to completely relieve contractors on any dredging or earthmoving project. In doing so, we provide the complete total picture in terms of dredging support and coastal reinforcement, floating equipment and earthmoving machinery."
The company underwent quite an increase in scale in the size of works in recent years. In addition to the Netherlands, DCS with its fleet and experienced crews is also working for a wide range of large projects in France, Germany, England and now Denmark. "It is an expanding patch of work positions through Europe. We have made quite a turnaround in this," says Nicholas. "From a single dump of about 300,000 cubic meters of sand for a job in Zeeland, to a complete package of sinker work and a dump of 1 million cubic meters of sand on a project in Denmark." There, DCS is collaborating on the construction of the longest combined road and rail tunnel in the world. The 18-km-long Fehmarnbelt Tunnel will soon connect Germany directly with Denmark. Due to the enormous growth, the company has undergone necessary adjustments not only in terms of equipment, but also organizationally. "Good professionals are becoming increasingly scarce," Nicolaas notes, "fortunately we have a top team within DCS with specific expertise at various levels of expertise. Thanks to the experience and input of our people and our regular partners, we can offer cost-effective solutions and achieve optimal results."
Despite a proactive and relieving attitude, the company definitely does not want to sit in the contractor's chair. "We are happy to take on work in a package and with that we can also take on some of the client's requirements." Nicolaas explains, "We have all the knowledge, skill and equipment in house to be able to build, weld, transport and install culverts for the customer and also do the landfill work. All in one package, which is unique but we just do it. This gives the client a single point of contact and short lines of communication, which is pleasant and efficient. In that we really fill a gap in the market." DCS' professionals on ships, in factories and on projects do not shy away from any challenge.
