'A great step for contractors who want to do business more sustainably'

Prolock is sustainable, circular and is manufactured from recycled PVC. Thus, Profextru keeps some 10,000,000 kilograms of industrial plastic waste out of incinerators every year.

Profextru has been active in the processing of recycled PVC for 60 years. The recycling process no longer holds any secrets for it. With Prolock, Profextru has a sustainable advantage. Prolock is the alternative to sheet pile walls made of traditional materials such as hardwood and steel.

Sustainable business

For the application of the innovative sheet piles, it seeks cooperation with contractors and clients. "The sheet piles have an excellent MKI score," says Rob Salomons of Profextru Production. "They have minimal impact on the environment. That makes the products attractive to clients and contractors who want to do business more sustainably. Using a life cycle analysis (LCA), we can compare our MKI score with that of other solutions. We are happy to get in touch with contractors and clients who want to talk about this."

Custom

Prolock offers two concepts for bank protection. Prolock Sigma is the ideal protection for the banks of ponds, ditches and small waterways. Prolock Omega is the right choice for the bank protection of canals, rivers, lakes and marinas. Both concepts consist of a short plastic screen, whose tubes are filled with wooden posts that provide the strength. "In this way, we combine the best of both worlds," he said. 

To avoid waste, Profextru supplies only custom-made products. "This is how we handle our raw materials securely and responsibly," says Henry Hoekman of Profextru Production. 

Service 

"The search for cooperation is in our DNA. This is where we want to make a difference for our partners," said an enthusiastic Salomons. "We make indicative strength calculations for the best construction in the given situation. We provide tools such as pile frames and offer project supervision on site. We stay around until the sheet piles are in the ground."

Innovation 

Meanwhile, Prolock is not sitting still on the development side either. Together with (public) market parties, it is working on the further development of the Prolock Delta Screen. The so-called "Prolock Delta Filter Screen" must protect dikes from underground sand flows. "That innovation suits us, working together on sustainable solutions. We really want to make strides in that area."
