Senior Project Manager Civil Engineering

Due to the growth of our municipality, we are looking for project managers for civil engineering projects. These include the (re)design of residential neighborhoods and industrial sites, in-and expansion locations, the supervision of plan developments, the renovation/replacement of movable bridges, but also the realization of parks and sports facilities. What will you do as a Senior Project Leader Civil Engineering?

Do you enjoy working with many people? Are you goal- and result-oriented and environmentally aware? Are you able to conduct stakeholder management and easily establish contacts? How do you coordinate and make timely adjustments to achieve the agreed end result? Just a few important questions that the Zuidplas municipality needs you to answer.

As Senior Project Leader you are ultimately responsible for the agreed upon project result. You supervise the process steps in a project from the acceptance of an order to the transfer to management. This includes integral projects which may include sewerage works, street works, art works, cultural engineering works and the construction of playgrounds. These can be stand-alone projects or complete restructuring of a neighborhood from facade to facade.

In addition, you enjoy using your experience within the development of the cluster. There is plenty to do.

What will you do?

• You will work as a Senior Project Leader of civil projects for the civil engineering part within the larger (Area Development) projects in Zuidplas;
• You will work for 2 clients, namely, Public Space Management (BOR), where you will deploy on the realization of mainly reconstructions. You will also work as a contractor for the PMB (Project Management Bureau) cluster in which you will take on the role of Technical Manager (TM) in the IPM team within Area Development Projects;
• You are responsible as senior project manager for the execution of integral civil projects from initiation phase up to and including the handover phase in accordance with the way of Project-Based Work established within Zuidplas;
• You prepare projects, take care of the tendering process and are responsible for the quality of execution, for this you manage supervisors and supervisors;
• You manage work planners and you are also responsible for testing the quality of outsourced work;
• You will review designs, drawings, specifications and work descriptions for accuracy, completeness and feasibility;
• You will be responsible for the financial Project Management of your projects;
• You will prepare progress reports 4 times a year and inform your client;
• You will organize participation with residents and businesses and answer questions from residents and businesses, directing the Environmental Manager.

What do we ask of you?

• Bachelor/Wo working and thinking level towards Civil Engineering/Building Management;
• You are goal- and result-oriented and environmentally aware;
• You have an eye for the environment and wishes of residents and have a feel for beautiful public spaces;
• You have knowledge of the IPM model and possibly experience in the role of TM;
• You are a good negotiator, communicatively strong and good at working together;
• You have knowledge of the RAW systematics;
• You have knowledge of stakeholder management and citizen participation;
• You are used to steering by GROTICK;
• You have knowledge of, for example, innovative tendering forms such as UAV-GC or working in a construction team form.
