Permanent job, 32-36 hours, scale 11 (max. €6,193 gross p/m)

The layout of a city determines its livability. Would you like to use your civil engineering knowledge for that purpose with a medium-sized, active city that thinks sustainably?

You work on the physical layout of the city and that includes:

• Creating sewer management and maintenance programs;
• Coordinate work integrally with colleagues from green, traffic, ov, civil works, roads streets and squares;
• Advise in project groups for new developments and reconstruction of neighborhoods.

At the Public Domain Department of the municipality of Nieuwegein, we work on a beautiful and livable public space. The city consists of different cores, ranging from ancient villages to contemporary business parks. As an urban water management consultant you will ensure that the management, maintenance and renewal of our physical space is in good order. This is very varied: today it is about repairing an old sewer system, tomorrow about the consequences of making a residential area sustainable. You maintain contacts, assess proposals, make plans and coordinate. Plenty of room for your professional contribution!

The Utrecht region is doing well, which is currently leading to a boom in spatial projects and initiatives in the municipality of Nieuwegein. The projects range from single projects to complex developments involving multiple parties and stakeholders.

• A completed college degree in civil engineering;
• About 3 years of experience in the field, in a municipality or private organization;
• desire to make Nieuwegein the best municipality in the Netherlands.
