Temporary management and staff positions in underground infrastructure

The Dutch underground contains a very extensive network of cables and pipes. And this intensity will only increase in the coming years. Klomp Management Support provides companies with knowledge and know-how by holding temporary management and staff positions to steer underground infrastructure projects in the right direction. From tender to completion.

Berrie Klomp of Klomp Management Support is a dyed-in-the-wool technical professional who grew up in a
family business, specializing in cable and pipe laying. "At the age of 23, I took over the helm from my father and managed the company until 1991. I then held various staff and management positions with major underground infrastructure contractors before making the decision in 2014 to pursue my career as an independent professional."

Higher segment

Klomp Management Support operates mainly in the higher segment of underground infrastructure. That is, the construction of large pipelines, heat networks and wind farms. "Usually I am hired on a project basis or to give substance to a project on an ad interim basis," Berrie explains. "Currently, there is a boom in the construction of wind farms in our country. I contribute to various projects. Not infrequently, I am already involved in the tender for support in design, process management, preparation, engineering and building and setting up System Engineering. In short, leading and supervising the (EMVI) tender to then supervising the complete execution after award."

Clients and contractors

Tender and project teams are getting bigger and bigger. "That's because for the various disciplines, all of them are specialists
be called upon," Klomp knows. "Thanks to my broad knowledge and expertise in multiple disciplines - civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, business, and so on - I am broadly applicable. Because I have held many positions within companies, I know the ins and outs. In addition, I have a large network of specialists and experts at my disposal. That makes it interesting for clients to be able to tackle projects with smaller teams. A win-win situation." In addition to contractors, Klomp Management Support is also regularly engaged by clients to perform route determination and design, work or specification specification, risk management, project management, project guidance and/or supervision, cable and pipeline coordination, et cetera."

Klomp Management Support is very versatile in holding temporary management and staff positions to manage underground infrastructure projects.
