The combination has many infrastructure projects to its name and shows that even the craft of driving wooden piles is still relevant. An interview with one of the directors Gert-Jan Potveer.
Specifically for the infrastructure sector, SPS relies on its midi-class and larger scaffolding. "For example, last year in Muiden for the De Krijgsman project we realized the foundation for an emergency bridge intended for construction and commuter traffic. We then removed the existing and obsolete bridge and made the pile mattress (1,000 piles) for the new road bridge. We also installed the driven foundation for the two bicycle and pedestrian bridges in this plan. A great project where many disciplines came together and where we were able to maximize our expertise." SPS operates nationwide.
Heicombinatie SPS has a multitude of disciplines in-house. "It ranges from supplying and driving steel tubular piles, screw injection piles and wooden piles to steel sheet piling with anchoring," Potveer explains. "In addition, we specialize in installing piles in confined spaces. A passage of only 68 centimeters is enough for us to create a solid foundation. We also focus on foundation repair, concrete work, basement construction and soil remediation. We realize this particularly in vibration-free methods, such as mini mortar screw piles and grout injection piles. The latter is very suitable for confined spaces where high load-bearing capacity is required."
