In the early 2000s, Pipeliner was established from the then Pipeline Industry Guild (now: BIG-in-pipelines) with the aim of developing, collecting and disseminating knowledge related to pipelines (and cables). The aging of the industry, and the resulting "brain drain," was a major problem at the time. Pipeliner was able to turn the tide by, among other things, exchanging knowledge by means of training courses and by highlighting the social recognition of the "pipeliner" profession. Now, almost 20 years later, the exchange of knowledge is still very topical and more than ever necessary in view of the challenges posed by climate change and energy transition. We would therefore like to explain to you the various training opportunities Pipeliner has to offer.
For years, the Master of Pipeline Technology (MPT) a fixed value and unique education in the cable and pipeline industry. Since 2003, this course has delivered more than 300 alumni who now hold various (high) positions in the industry. The purpose of the training is, besides teaching knowledge, exchanging experience and expanding one's own network, to stimulate personal growth and thus deliver future managers, consultants and specialists in this field. The training lasts a total of 2.5 years with in the first phase (1 year) a program leading to the certificate "Technical Pipeline Engineer" and in second phase (1.5 years) a program leading to the desired degree of "Master of Pipeline Technology". Avans+, the training provider, always showed flexibility towards the participants because it understood well enough that the training means a big commitment and time commitment for them. Thus, it was already possible to split the second phase into two parts, namely the regular teaching program and working on the thesis. Now Avans+ and Pipeliner are going a step further and proposing six individual modules, or "Master classes", open to participants who do not wish to commit (immediately) to the entire program. The next 6 Master Classes will be offered as of now and will start in the fall of 2022:
The special feature of this formula is that the participants, who register for an individual Master Class, will follow the module together with those who complete the entire course. Thus, this is more than a traditional course and, in addition to pure knowledge transfer, we also create sufficient space for exchanging experience and building a network within the sector. Moreover, taking one module can also serve as an introduction to the entire training. A course that, moreover, has long since ceased to focus solely on large transmission lines but also looks at cables, heat networks, distribution lines and related subjects that have a relationship with the subsurface (of the urban environment).
Several years ago, Pipeliner, in cooperation with Litecad, also developed the Professional training Pipeliner launched as a second course. In a short time, this course has also become a fixture in the cable and pipeline world. In addition to acquiring knowledge and insight into the (technical) aspects of the entire field, this course also aims to stimulate the participants' personal skills in the work context - project work, reporting and presentation. This training has a lead time of 1 year and offers newcomers the chance to get to know the industry better on the one hand and more experienced participants a total overview and knowledge of the entire process on the other. Of course, the expansion of one's own network is also a great added value here, which continues to bear fruit long after the training has ended, both personally and professionally for the participants.
Both Master Training, Master Classes and Professional Training will start in September 2022. Register yourself or one of your employees now, as places are in demand!
