Together with Rijkswaterstaat, the availability is kept at optimum levels and installations are renewed. After a transition period, Croonwolter&dros will be responsible for the maintenance of the following tunnels from September 1, 2021:
Croonwolter&dros will be responsible for multidisciplinary maintenance from barrier to barrier. This responsibility is not limited to the technical installations, but also applies to civil and green maintenance in and around the tunnels.
In the coming years, in cooperation with the Department of Public Works and Water Management, predictive maintanence will be used: not preventive maintenance too early or corrective maintenance too late, but maintenance exactly when it is needed. By replacing resources just before they are worn out, major interventions can be avoided. In this way, predictive maintenance is not only sustainable, but also generates cost savings.
Rijkswaterstaat wants an energy-neutral tunnel area in 2030. Investments will be made in the coming years to achieve this ambition. Croonwolter&dros is deploying electric transport and sustainable equipment to limit CO2 emissions by the mechanics.
