Partner in geometry

Measuring is knowing. Measuring equipment is crucial in the construction and infrastructure industry. However, they are often complex systems and the range is enormous. As a partner in metrology, MeetConsult helps companies make the right choice in equipment. Also for commissioning, training, maintenance, repair and calibration you have come to the right place with the company from Almere. Director Eelco Visser 'highlights' a number of interesting devices that are extremely suitable for application in the infrastructure sector.

MeetConsult has been the partner for measuring instruments in the Netherlands since 2004. "We supply high-quality instruments with the best service and quality," Visser begins. "We are main dealer of GeoMax, part of Hexagon. Since the end of last year, we have also been trained and certified to calibrate, service and perform any factory warranty on the entire line of GeoMax measuring instruments. With special software and special tools, we check and repair Robotic Total Stations, GNSS, Laser-
and leveling instruments. In short, everything under one roof."

One-man Total Station

For the infra sector, MeetConsult distinguishes between four main categories, namely Robotic Total Stations, GNSS receivers, rotating lasers and software to operate the equipment. Visser begins by explaining the first category. "When it comes to Robotic Total Stations, there are basically two devices that are widely used in the construction and infra sector, the GeoMax Zoom90 and the Zoom70. The first has advanced techniques to find the 360-degree prism at long distances. Especially in asphalt work, for example, this device saves a lot of time and, because of its accuracy, a lot of money. The Zoom90 also has unparalleled Tracking functionality and supports multiple search methods. A unique feature of the Zoom70 is that it can be operated remotely by one surveyor. The unit continuously tracks the prism. Once locked onto the prism, the instrument remains accurately focused, even on fast-moving targets."

Four satellite systems

MeetConsult's Zenith GNSS receivers combine data from the four major satellite systems (Europe, Russia, China and America) for very high accuracy. "Actually, data from any of the four satellite systems is already sufficient, but the GNSS receivers go a step further. The top model is the Zenith40 with the highest accuracy (8mm) and reliability (99.99%) due to the unique Swiss algorithm Q-Lock ProTM. The Zenith16 is a more economical version that still guarantees a high accuracy of 10 millimeters. The Zenith35, in turn, is a multi-purpose device for hard-to-reach locations. The Canadian algorithm allows the instrument to be used even in a forest or between buildings. Ideal for surveying cables and pipes. The Dual tag tilt function allows measurement even when the pole is tilted to more than 30 degrees. Finally, the GeoMax X-POLE combines the advantages of TPS and GNSS. With the push of a button you switch between both measurement methods without cumbersome and time-consuming configurations."

MeetConsult naturally also provides the field software for the measuring instruments, relying on X-PAD. "It is the first Android software in the market since 2013. The software works like an app, is very user-friendly and easy to learn," Visser explains. "Finally, we also supply a wide range of rotating lasers from GeoMax with the Zone80DG as the top model, which may or may not be used for machine control. The device has a range of 1,100 meters and suitable for double slope up to 15 degrees. In short, we can suggest the best measuring instrument for every application."
