Greater efficiency in underground infrastructure

Cleverdesk is the ultimate communication platform for getting and keeping a grip on projects in the infrastructure sector. For companies primarily active in underground infrastructure, the online portal also has a number of sophisticated (standard) modules to achieve greater efficiency, such as a link to the DSP (Digital Collaboration Platform), task-oriented project planning and the ability to read in calculated specifications.

Cleverdesk is a digital registration platform that brings together all operational processes with integrated planning and project management for people and equipment. "We basically digitize all matters outside the financial package, such as the processes on the construction site, but also the time registration, safety and quality of people and equipment," says Jorrit Bust, whose responsibilities at Cleverdesk include the development of specific modules. "We listen to our customers and keep a close eye on the market so that we can tailor our software perfectly to needs in the market."

For digitizing the processes in the underground infra, Bust says, there was no user-friendly and good specialist software yet. "It is precisely a market that is moving enormously and will also continue to digitize. The Digital Collaboration Platform is a striking example of this. It is a messaging platform over which information is exchanged between network operators and contractors. The contractor receives his orders via the DSP. Cleverdesk retrieves the intended information from the DSP via swissknife and automatically generates a work order from it. No more manual input work is required. This not only saves time, but also prevents unnecessary errors."

In Cleverdesk, calculated specifications (RAW files) can now also be read in. "We extract the budget from the calculation and link it to people, resources and equipment," Bust clarifies. "The regular tasks that are so characteristic of the underground infrastructure sector (permit applications, klic notification, and so on) can be read into the project planning module separately from the budget. From the main project it is thus perfectly visible to whom which tasks have been assigned and what their status is. We are also in talks with Bakker&Spees to create a live link with Cleverdesk. In the future, a calculation in Bakker&Spees should automatically generate a project in Cleverdesk. And so we ensure that the underground infrastructure contractor, too, can increasingly automate its operational processes."
