With more than 45 years of domain expertise in process automation and digitalization for the vital infrastructure, ICT Group knows the market inside out. The company proves time and again that technological developments can be of great added value for the many challenges in the water, infra and rail sectors. And with the addition of ICT TriOpSys, its expertise in the field of cyber security has also been further expanded.
The infrastructure sector faces an enormous task in the coming years. Given the current state of the infrastructure, the focus is on renovation rather than new construction. The aim is to tackle this task with minimum disruption and maximum availability. ICT Group is using various tools to standardize operating and control systems and to test all systems before they are rolled out. This increases reliability and reduces disruption. ICT Group thinks along from design to management and maintenance with managed services for vital assets. All these aspects will also be covered at InfraTech 2025, through demos at their stand 6.506 and in the various presentations given by ICT Group.
One such demo is about detecting dangerous situations on a movable bridge. "The idea for this came about after a fatal accident in the Zaan region when opening a bridge in which a cyclist was on the wrong side of the barrier," said Hergen Schuringa, account manager at ICT TriOpSys. "Together with Rijkswaterstaat and Pegamento, we developed a solution in which cameras combined with artificial intelligence detect objects and people and send a signal to the operator's user interface. The concept is similar to the extra alertness obtained in a car with blind spot detection and should be seen as an additional safety monitoring tool. At our booth there is a rack with cameras and screens so visitors can experience the operation of the system for themselves."
"With HoloNXT we visualize different aspects of (mission critical) systems in a holographic 3D environment. Think of displaying measured values where they are actually measured, or supporting maintenance work on site with the link to an asset management system like Ultimo," says Matti van Hille, operations manager at ICT Group.
ICT Group is in Hall 6 in the software plaza. They will provide various presentations in their own software theater.
That technological developments are of great value in updating and renovating vital assets is proven by ICT Group's contribution to the upgrade of the Hubertus Tunnel, among other things. "Here we ensure that the operation and control system is delivered residual point-free before the tunnel is closed for nine months at the end of July 2025," says Matti. "A similar exercise was previously carried out for the Maas Delta Tunnel and the Holland Tunnel on the A24 Blankenburg connection. During the presentation we will show how we approach such a route, also going into depth technically."
Standardization of software for control systems and your SCADA environment provides insight, fewer operating errors and better maintainability. "We illustrate this on the basis of a project we carried out for the HHNK in updating and adapting the operation and control of the wastewater treatment plants. We show our approach from practice and build a bridge to infra."
Cybersecurity is also an important issue in critical infrastructure. To simplify password management, ICT TriOpSys has developed the "secret management" service. "We will elaborate on that during the presentation based on a project with the municipality of Amsterdam," Hergen said. "Assets like VIPs, switch boxes, etc. are often secured with a standard password that never changes. It's too time intensive. Secret management is a tool that rotates the passwords of all systems according to certain agreements and fully automated, thus increasing security and availability."
Finally, ICT Group is also paying extensive attention to management and maintenance at InfraTech 2025. "Assets should not only be built and renovated, but also managed and maintained for a long time. You can find that expertise at ICT Group as well," says Frans Lambregts, business development manager who advocates that 'managed services' should already be involved in the design of an asset for the best possible manageable and maintainable application and software system. "At least that's the approach we take for the Maas Delta Tunnel and the Holland Tunnel on the A24 Blankenburg connection, among others, but also for the Hubertus Tunnel that we maintain for years to come. This way, the chance of breakdowns is minimal, and should something nevertheless happen, 'managed services' has a team ready 24/7 to solve it."
In short, ICT Group is pulling out all the stops during InfraTech 2025 and would like to invite interested parties for a cup of coffee at booth 6.506.
