Hello HALO! The HALO™ SL helmet light makes you visibly safer

Safety helmet wearers may encounter poorly lit or dark situations during various construction projects. In addition to limited visibility, there can be complexity. With a lot of activity and movement of equipment, people and traffic, one is often not alone. Here, our unique HALO™ SL lighting system for safety helmets can help improve personal visibility and safety.

Do you see me, do I see you?

The well-known campaign "Do you see me, do I see you?" alerts road users (of trucks, rollers, forklifts, for example) to make themselves visible to persons in the vicinity. But this also applies the other way around. For example, as an excavator operator with limited visibility in my cab, how can I timely see persons moving around me in the dark? In that case, it is useful for them to wear a helmet lamp that, in addition to a headlamp function, also creates permanent 360° visibility up to a radius of 400 meters.

Extra lock on the door

To be better noticed, one can wear signal clothing with retroreflective stripes. During the day, thanks to UV light, the fluorescent colors (orange or yellow) do their job. From dusk until dark, retroreflection provides visibility. However, to see this reflection, the observer must have a light source. This is not always the case in practice. Even when someone walks behind or between equipment or objects, there is limited visibility.
If you wear a helmet that is illuminated all around then you will stand out the quickest, because your head is often the first to stick out above something.

Fatal industrial accident

Recently, we spoke to a contractor who said that despite wearing new retroreflective signal clothing, one of his employees had been fatally killed during structural work. Cause: poor visibility. "Had he been wearing one of those helmet lamps at the time, we probably could have avoided this accident.", he told me.

This tragic real-life example motivates us every day to get to work and try to help improve personal visibility and safety in the workplace. What improvements do you see around the theme of "seeing and being seen" in your staff's workplaces?
