Sustainable use of materials and circular construction. Virtually every municipality, construction company and architect is looking at ways to use recyclable and sustainable materials. With nature inventing circular processes and an end product that can often be found in a green landscape, Kokosystems knows its way around. The company develops green noise barriers that add not only aesthetic but also ecological value.
"We provide turn-key solutions for various noise challenges in the business and residential sectors," says Arjan Kick, project manager at Kokosystems. "For this, we use the renewable raw material coconut fiber, recycled raw material for the pipes and recyclable steel as a sustainable material. With this we score high in EMVI tender processes and guarantee a sustainable application in a public space."
"In all Kokosystems noise barriers there is a sound insulating plate that provides the actual sound insulation. Depending on the requirements of the project, the distance from the source to the noise and the height of the sound barrier, we calculate and advise which type of sound barrier can be used." The Kokowall Standard has a warm appearance and fits into any landscape. It is mostly used along residential neighborhoods and municipal roads. For situations with higher sound-absorbing requirements, such as along railroad lines and provincial roads, the Kokowall High Absorbing variant is used. In both screens, both outer sides are finished with coconut fibers that provide ideal attachment for various types of climbing plants. Kokowall HA-Minwool is ideally suited as a noise barrier at industrial sites or locations directly along the road where vegetation on one side is not possible or desired. Only one side is finished with durable coconut fibers and the other side with a layer of mineral wool finished with a plastic and galvanized steel mesh net.
"Because a diversity of climbing plants is applicable, which bloom in various seasons, you not only put up a functional sound barrier, but also an aesthetically pleasing object. The vegetation also ensures that fine dust is absorbed. All factors that make our screens very acceptable in residential areas and along highways," Kick says. Kokosystems guides, advises, engineers and executes. "Because the Kokowall Noise Screen is modular, it can be realized in any size, color scheme or arrangement. And that in a relatively short construction time." For example, Kick mentions a noise barrier in Maassluis that is no less than 7 meters high and 70 meters long. "We installed this Kokowall HA mini wool between a large recycling company and a residential area. The galvanized posts were completely powder coated in a green color. There was quite weak soil, so our installer Van Schie Groep put steel tube piles of 25 meters into the ground on which our screen was placed." Kick concludes, "We have a suitable soundproofing solution for every situation."
