Smarter foundations

Terracon Funderingstechniek is an internationally oriented specialist in foundation engineering in both free and confined spaces. According to director Benjamin Bekhof, the company has the drive to always want to do things better and smarter. "That invariably leads to the best foundation solution, where we minimize failure costs, execution time and environmental nuisance."

Terracon offers a wide range of solutions for large and complex foundation issues. "Nevertheless, we are picky about the projects we take on," says Benjamin. "We prefer to work for clients who see us as a true construction partner and therefore like to be engaged at an early stage so that we can contribute our expertise in a timely manner. That always results in a best-for-project solution for industry, petrochemicals, data centers and energy transition."

Sustainable and safe

Terracon's machinery is extensive. The foundation specialist can handle virtually all types of pile systems. In the field of drilled, vibration-free techniques, these include the Terr-Econ (injection) pile, the Tubex pile, the Terr-Econ tubular pile, the TerraSon Drilled Pile and the Screw Injection Pile. In the driven systems category, Terracon can handle the Vibro (combi) pile, the Prefab pile and the MV pile. "Of course, if required, we also take care of the foundation design and geotechnical advice," Benjamin adds. "We work with clean fuels such as HVO, while half the fleet is now equipped with modern Stage V engines. An eye for people and the environment has an ongoing focus. We are considering how we can make our machinery even more sustainable as soon as possible. In addition, we maintain a high safety regime. We occupy level 4 on the Safety Culture Ladder and are VCA-P certified."

All these efforts make Terracon uniquely positioned in the market. "Many projects are awarded to us based on alternative foundation solutions, where we also do the engineering. We always want to do it smarter. Besides, construction is just people work. So timely information, communication and understanding for each other, that's our vision on how to realize a project with the whole chain," Benjamin concludes.
